If I recall, there is a small slit on the non screw side that goes to the door. So there is contact on both sides. hard to tell from the picture but it looks like it's just being held on by the screw?

Thanks for this and the post OP. I've had mine on wrong for about a year. Had to hold it while I put the gas cap in. Just went out and fixed it now. Never noticed that little slit. It fits perfect now and doesn't move. Meso is a genius

Looks comparable to Meso's photos. Is the right side (hinge side) in the groove?

This is great and I’ll buy one. But why did Toyota leave us without a spot to hang the gas cap? I’ve never had a vehicle without one besides a coupe of 70’s Buick’s with the gas cap behind the license plate. Even the you could wedge the cap between the plate and bumper.

No, you did not. There's the above mentioned groove issue and the stock clip/latch goes under the Gashole so the door closes the same as before.

You mean the cable and the hook?

I just hang it on the hook that holds the door in place. Doesn't touch the truck.

    (Not my image, but similar)

FYI, be careful to not use too much pressure when inserting your thingy into your gashole, you can bend your hinges if not careful. I always support my gas door when inserting.

I’ve seen enough threads with bent doors without gasholes that it made me cautious.

Gotta move that tether chingadera piece to the outer hole. Better dangle that way.

I get dangle in between the hooks myself. The picture I posted was from google and even I thought it was weird that it had no dangle.
