Falken Wildpeak AT/3 tires

Just got 265/75 16s installed on my 07 along with SCS SR8 wheels, Bilstein 5100's, OME 884 and HS AAL. What a difference from stock.

 

how does your truck drive with 265/75s? I'm thinking about upgrading to 265/75. Do you think it's necessary to regear at all?

 

265/75/16’s on my DCLB. I don’t feel any need for a re-gear especially after the recent TSB update.

 

Have you had any rubbing issues at all? I still have stock suspension, I'm not sure if I'll rub with 265/75s.

 

No but I’m on Fox 2.0’s with a 2.25 inch lift.

Stock truck, 265/70/17 wildpeaks on TRD PRO wheels, REK GEN mudflaps, and DD SS3 Max’s. My tires rub in reverse full lock on the fender liner just above the flap with some heat and bending it would clear it up.

 

I have the exact same set up and I'm pretty sure it's rubbing on the spacer bolt on the rekgens. I removed them and had no rubbing

 

I have 265/75/16s on a stock suspension with no rubbing.

 

I actually think it drives better tbh. I haven’t re geared or anything. Also I didn’t pick e-rated tires. So tire weight is still relatively low. So that probably helps. I live in Oregon and ride on a lot of rocky trails(nothing crawly, just lots of smaller sharp rocks). Haven’t had any punctures. Don’t really see the need for e rated. I just have the SL

 

Those Falkens are certainly impressive tires and definitely something to consider if you live in a snowy region. Personally, I am leaning toward the Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrains (aka Ghetto Duratracs). They have a deeper tread, lighter weight than the Falkens, and just look beefier all around. I'm sure the Falkens are better in snow but I live in Southern California so i barely ever drive in the snow.

 

Just put on the Wildpeaks. I like the look, but I’ve noticed an immediate and very noticeable change in handling. The steering feels dead and it’s slow to turn. Has anybody else experienced this? Same size 265/70/16 SLs

 

I just put these on myself and noticed a significant change in the steering. Feels muted. Did you notice this?

 

Well, its about the same size tire so unless they messed something up changing them it shouldn't be like that

 

For guys that got these in 275/70/17 or 265/70/17. I noticed that these tires are a little on the heavy side according to the websites. Do you guys think a re-gear would be necessary to accommodate this weight? or Have you guys been fine with these tires? I am considering pulling the trigger on this for my next tire and want to be sure that I'm making the right decision. Thanks!

 

Not for that tiny tire size. If anything and I mean IF you wanted to adjust for the size then get a tune
