I love the Toyo MT's...I've had them on all my trucks, from full sized diesel Ram trucks to my current 2017 TRD-OR.

normally E load tires you compromise ride comfort on road with an exception of a set im using.

General Grabber ATX tires in E load is more comfortable than the P stock tires that came with my truck. Im running size 265/75/R16. They have a comfort balance technology as they call it which is a layer that is meant for absorbing impacts minor and major.

i rec checking the grabbers out

On a muddy and rocky trail I did fine aired down to 18PSI. It was my 1st time off-road so I don't have a lot to compare it to. Any of the tires mentioned in this thread are probably going to be a lot better. I'm set on Nitto Ridge Grapplers once the Wrangers are shot personally.

The KO2s are the most popular off-road tire by a long shot so there's a lot more opportunity for complaints. It's also the tire everyone loves to hate because they're the "best". I've never owned them but I used to work for a tire shop and sold hundreds of them. No complaints.

I went with Ridge Grapplers because I liked the tread design and the reviews of a quiet ride despite the aggressive tread. No complaints from me, but I can't personally compare them to anything else. They are "E" rated and anyone that says they don't notice the stiffer ride is under 25 years old.

EDIT: I'm not be "ageist" or anything, I just know that when I was younger, I didn't notice things like that. I also never had a vehicle with AC until the age of 25 or so. Never bothered me before. Now? I'd be dying.

    Work in progress...
I sure have had good luck with these Hankook Dynapro ATM 265 70 17's. I am out in the sand and rocky washes. The sidewalls look vulnerable to the jagged rocks but so far, knock on wood, so good. My only complaint is the damn things won't wear out so I can get some serious off road tires.

Yoko G015 or Michelin AT and don’t be dumb in the mud imho

Or a dedicated mud tire and then every wet/snowy paved road is an adventure

Tires like k02, Grabbers, Pirelli AT are sorta in between

I wouldn't get an E tire unless it was dedicated Off Road truck. Daily driver, forget about it.

    But it's your ride, enjoy!!!!

    P.S. Duratracs for the Win!

I just got some C rated 34” Toyo AT3s (285/75r17) on my 4Runner and couldn’t be happier with them. Smooth ride, not loud at all, and a great balance between off road aggressive and highway driving. Best tire I’ve ever had TBH. And they’re 3 peak mtn snowflake rated! Doesn’t get any better than this IMO. I’ve had my share of Es and never again on a taco or a 4runner. These AT3s come in Cs for lots of different sizes that are usually only available in Es with all the other brands.

I will probably never buy M/Ts ever again for anything that isn’t a 100% dedicated (and trailered) off roader. They suck on the highway, Suck in the snow, SUCK on ice... only good off road, but an aggressive A/T will still do well on the dirt without sacrificing all the other types of driving that most of us do much much more often.

Went with Mickey Thompson Baja ATZp3. They are a hybrid, more aggressive than my BFG A/T, and not as noisy as M/T.

So far I really like them. Only have around 2,000 miles but work well in sand,2F142E80-E492-4C6F-BBEA-0B3FD7E07D27.jpg mud and wet roads.

Cooper ST MAXX 255/85/16. I use them on my daily driver. Not too noisy and I get around 60k miles out of a set.

Stt pro, km3. I have both on both of my vehicles and have zero complaints. On my 3rd set of stt pro’s. 2 on the tacoma and now I just put them on the t4r.

I would go for a Duratrac. Only thing to keep in mind is they like to be rotated often (Every 5,000kms/3,000miles).
