My favorite is the case against Cabelas for selling .45 ammo to a 19 year old and him then accidently killing a friend. Cabelas stated they can sell long rifle ammo to anyone over 18. Some long rifles use .45 calliber. Who is to decide if the kid is lying about what he is using the ammo in.The anti-gun lobby will now try to raise the age to purchase ammo for long guns to 21 :annoyed:.

This is not political just stating a fact. You have it easy compared to us. Here in California every single ammunition purchase requires a background check which you pay for. If you buy ammo today and again tomorrow , background check both days. You cannot bring ammo from out of state into California legally. If you purchase ammo out of state it has to be sent to an ffl who has a special California ammo license. You cannot give ammo or sell your ammo to another person in California. If you come to California to hunt you cannot legally bring your ammo into the state. I could go on and on, it would blow your mind.

As to the burning car. Most states have "Good Samaritan" laws that shield you from such nonsense. I'd sure like to see the details on that one.

Just back from multiday "camping" on the sound, Cama Beach. Really fun and super relaxing. Hiked near 13 miles yesterday! My legs feel really good.

I'm not sure, but I think that the "good Samaritan law changes" were a result of that particular lawsuit.
There was an instance where a little girl got her hand/fingers stuck in the gears of one of those playground carousels, no adult there would try to help her due to the fear of being sued, they ended up waiting for "TRAINED" personal to arrive.

Think I found the reference to what I posted, I was wrong though on one detail, (I'M OLD and relying on memory), the car wasn't on fire, but the rescuer thought that it might catch fire and acted accordingly.

Heiting & Irwin-----suing the good Samaritan: when good intentions cause serious harm.
It happened in CA and the court sided with the plaintiff because of the way the good Samaritan law was written, it appears that they did amend that law after that case.

Good Morning folks. Be safe driving out there this week because too many last minute shoppers are going to make the week a real mess. Have a great day and be safe.

Heard that Kilauea volcano is erupting and there have been earthquakes along with the eruption. Sure hope @cheech1 and his family are safe.

Your cat knows where it is at. As a cat owner i loved the pic. Great picture.

Honestly I do not know what the answer is to curb the violence associated with firearms. You can make the problem as complicated as you want and blame everyone you want. You will never win or lose an argument on the internet. As a start I wish we enforced the laws that are already passed. I am glad that most gun owners are sane and would not consider just going out and shoot anyone weather they know them or not.

This week you should consider ordering curb side pickup from your favorite restaurant. Without knowing what is in this latest bill being finalized for congress, it is clear our elected leaders really do not care about small businesses.

Humans are all basically children. They will do whatever they can get away with. Also, contrary to current snowflake beliefs, we are violent by nature.

In short, as long as the risks aren’t seen to out way the benefits it will only get worse.

You can never stop violence. It existed long before firearms. It will continue if they magically disappeared.

You would have to change the basics of human behavior. Regardless of the crackpot politically correct stuff spewed today that hasn’t and never will happen.

The best you can do is stand ready and willing to defend you and yours.

That is the key - enforcing the laws we already have. Few realize this but there are well over 20,000 gun laws on the books Federal, State, County and local. Many many times those laws are not enforced. Hard to imagine we need any additional gun laws than 20000 gun laws we have. Enforce the gun laws and severely prosecute offenders with max sentences - Problem 90% reduced
On another subject it just doesn’t seem like Christmas to me. I put up lights, the wife has decorated the house but we aren’t going anywhere for Christmas and no one is coming over. Haven’t been out Christmas shopping (order everything on line). We are a pretty close knit neighborhood and many of us make and bake goodies and hand them out neighbor to neighbor. Very little of that this year. A couple who comes over for Christmas dinner every year isn’t this year because they are very high risk for Covid. Just haven’t got got the spirit this year. We are going to start watching our favorite traditional Christmas movies and maybe that will get us in the spirit. Watched the original Miracle on 34th Street last night. Made around 1947, not sure of the exact year. What a classic. Tonight it’s A Christmas Carole , the original from 1938. That probably my favorite. Anyway I hope all of you have the spirit of Christmas and have a merry and joyous Christmas.

Afternoon folks, just got a phone call from a friend I was with (not real close but not socially distant either) this past Tuesday who just got tested for the virus . He said his wife lost her sense of smell and taste which is a symptom. Waiting to hear from him how they tested before I lock myself in my bedroom until spring:).
I didn't mean to stir the nest with the Cabelas lawsuit but it really bothers me that our rights in the constitution :oldglory: are gradually being chipped away at. Enough of the rant before the ban hammer hits :crapstorm:. As always, be safe out there.

No worries my friend, Kilauea is on the Big Island which is quite a distance away. I don't think it's actually erupting yet, just lava pooling in the crater.

No comment on Commufornia gun laws.

I've hesitated to post this but finally felt the need.

Back in my NAVY days, while stationed at NAS Corpus Christi, one of my fellow electrician guys, a very friendly/outgoing dude from Louisiana left on leave for two weeks to his hometown in that state. He never made it there. Weeks later we heard the report. He had picked up four hitchhikers .... two males and two females ... that sounded like something he would do being the nice guy that he was. They found his body with multiple stab wounds tied to a tree off the interstate. I decided at that moment I would never/ever pick up a hitchhiker again, and I haven't.

    Tex
