What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

02 sensor maybe? I think the PO gave me one

 

Most likely a bad cat or a leak in your exhaust. I've had to replace the O2 sensor before and it was a different code (for the rear), P0136 iirc.


P0420 came and went off and on for a long time, like it does for most. But only resolved for good after I replaced my cats

 

Guess it maybe to time to delete the cats then

 

Pick up the URD O2 sim if you don't want the code to stay on, there's also some other tricks to getting rid of the code that are cheaper that I'm less familiar with. Spark plug fouler trick I believe one of them is called.

 

May just run it for awhile



what is emissions?

also, changing the gas cap fixed the other code I had awhile ago.

 

Hoping to fix the perpetual “screaming banshee” cable driven speedo on my 95. Replaced the cable several times so cleaning the cluster part this time. Spins a lot more freely now so hopefully this does it for a while...

 

Got a p0446 this weekend right before arriving at the OHV park. Going to order a new gas cap and see if that keeps it off.

On the bright side, I mostly kept up with some friends in a 100 series land cruiser on 35s and a 5g 4r TRD OR.

 

I'm a firm believer that if you keep track of this your mental health will suffer

Found a nice place to keep my tire chains, pray for me that they never get used.

 

Guess I should have cut my exhaust shorter.

Cable itself is pretty easy to replace. Getting your hand behind the cluster to disconnect can be another story...lol

 

Yea. I’ll do that. I originally chopped it for my old setup and it was working perfectly.

 

I've done that...what a freaking pain. Did it to check to see if the speedo worked.

I've pulled the cable once when I did a body swap. How did you get it out from behind the insulation that covers it with the motor still in? or did you just rip it out? haha

 

I’d love to run buss bars. I even have a pair of 600 amp blue sea buss bars. I just have nowhere to mount them. Running out of room under the hood.

 

That's my problem as well. I stuck with the military type terminals for now, but I had been looking at those ones linked, someday I'll be motivated enough to make some sort of cover for them.

 

On mine the insulation is held on by some plastic nuts with bug washers. Just removed those and slid it out.
