My buddy said they closed the main entrance to the lake on sunday. I went up Hansen Ridge off of Tinkham road the other week and took the kiddos sledding there with a buddy. Plenty of good snow.

It was nice because there was pretty much no one else up at the top where we stopped. It has a nice ridge too for sledding.

i would recommend not making it into a big TW trip though because the road is narrow and can block traffic (we had to wait 30 minutes for a landcruiser to unfuck itself) if someone is stuck. But great for a couple of families going up to play. No toilets though so BYOS :D

I drove through there about a month ago. At that turnoff from Tinkham Rd, there was a big scary sign saying it was "narrow, steep, and icy" there was "no emergency service" and "this is your decision point" that put me off going up there. Is it actually as bad as it made it sound?

Yes and no. A landcruiser got stuck halfway up but an experienced driver with a honda pilot and set of chains and all seasons got to the top. If you're not comfortable with driving in the snow and/or don't have recovery gear I would not go.

I was up poking around in that area looking for Elk the day after Thanksgiving. There’s a pretty fun section of road to the right on the power lines on Kachess Dam road. I ended up popping out at an airport on one of the little trails.

Im trying to build a swing out tailgate. Do you think I could get away with hot rolled since im not banging it against rocks or using it for like a roll cage

That was before at first, when I drove to your place I was in 2hi (driveline free), hubs unlocked no spinning up front jacked up. I noticed my shift rod is a bit bound up too, when checking on it again so here we go again. All indications point to 2wd although the shift rod honestly seems like it’s in 4wd, so a bit worried about that. Doesn’t budge too easily but will get it pushed back in using Bobs t-case as a reference. So TLDR stuck in 2wd now

Bought one of those cables stony laroux has since it was cheaper than I thought . Never popping one of those hats off again though lol!

Thanks @Shadowhunter and @bobsuruncle for the components to help me get 4wd up and running again. I actually didn’t use the front actuator so if someone else’s goes that’s around lol. T-case actuator did seem to be the culprit and a bad sensor. The rest was getting my the timing back in sync I believe. Solder fix did help 2hi->4hi it’s way faster than before this troubleshooting started so worth doing if you have bad transitions.
