Speaking of shifting. What is downshift in regards of the vF tables? The speed and the accelerator angle at or below the values in the table? I have problems to figure it out when high loads/speeds are involved.

Ok. This Pid works and polls the data(blue).
1st- the data in the table is Calculated 4 digit torque value. Based on the load I can say that calculated and absolute are very close values. If I were messing with the table, can I really reference the real data to the values in the table?
2nd- Am I 41 nm away from the engine's max published torque?

    What app is that?

And interesting that your exhaust valves are only 9 degrees advanced when the maps available show a lot more advance in that rpm and load range.

The intake valves look like they match the values.

Maybe that's what @OVTune was referring to in previous posts about the exhaust valves retarding?

Correct. I also have some problems at high loads. Ive made improvements but not to where Id like. I absolutely hate when it downshifts and wants to go to the moon, when all I wanted was maybe 1-2 more mph. I am thinking it may be the inverse problem of your missing upshift - the tables tell the ecu it needs a ton of torque before it can shift. Need to do some logging to verify.

The valve thing is above my pay grade.
This is 2.0 tune. I can look at my old logs to see beta version, but I believe the numbers are the same for exhaust vvt

Did you guys notice on the trans torque map Mat brought to light, That It's the only map in all of the trans torque maps that have that huge crater in the middle? He is having us up the very top of that map. so my question do you think if we make it more like shift 2 for example would it shift like any other gear/load? And take out the huge dip in the middle?

I wasn't sure how much to increase the shifting 10 map, so I looked at all of them and copied shifting 9's values (which were a little higher) to the shifting 10 map. Flashed it today and drove around. No big difference, but no problems either. I'm going to give it a few miles to see.

OK nice!! keep us posted. I am upping what Mat highlighted by 3% and smoothed the dip but nothing else. there is still a dip but more of A U shape then A V.

I was thinking about doing the same. Didn’t see a reason why the 10 map should be vastly different than the others. Glad to hear there’s no negatives about adjusting it. Going to give it a shot!

I JUST went down the rabbit hole, even though i have been sitting on my vf tune purchase since may 12th. :D I requested the Reg key, by emailing the system ID to zendesk, waiting on the remaining software link so, i can identify the ecu id's, then request the 04b33 tune pack. then hoping @uploadadventure and some of the smarter guys will have an excellent tune for 04b33, that i can flip some coin to, and help to thank them, and compensate their time/energy, involved.

with ov closing for the holidays, not sure this will happen until after the new year but, it is my fault for waiting. thanks to all of you guys, supporting this! Ski

    Actually you are correct.

I looked at my old beta version logs and close engine load I see is 89-90 % and at these values I see Intake around 68-69 and Exhaust around 22-25. But RPMS are low though. Around 2100

I drove on the interstate this evening to work. Going 65-75mph, gave it half throttle and it went up to 2500rpm and dropped to 5th. So this is an improvement so far. Usually giving it half throttle would have dropped me to 4th and at least 3000rpm. We shall see. Definetly not worse.

my truck is plagued by the high load 2k rpm area lumpy feeling. And when this happens in second gear, the whole truck jumps like a dump truck that almost stalled, its horrible. Mat said he found an issue in the way the factory deals with exhaust VVT causing them to retard. He is working on a patch for VVT i believe, or at least putting the maps in VF so we can play with them.

I just noticed since you literally screen shot the high load, lower rpm, with a retarded exhaust vvt value that i would quote it and see if it was what Mat was speaking of.

I also notice, the exhaust VVT maps we have now only go to a load of 60, whereas the intake go to like 150.

You and I waited about same time. Was may when I purchased vftuner and just installed it a couple days ago and didn’t get the tune pack yet. Be interesting though to run stock tune a while and get a good feel for it before trying the tune pack. Longer I drive on stock better chance I’ll notice a difference when applying the tune.
