I used to have a hitch shop. The local Ford and Dodge dealerships would send many of their trucks down to my shop for a hitch install or ebrake unit install. At this same shop we also did leather seat installs for those same dealerships.

The sale guy would just call me up and basically give me a blank check to do the work.

Well since I've had the truck for 17 years it's weird that the stock setup was dead on mph, then the 2 different brands of 265/75/16 duratracs/general grabbers were both 2mph per 40mph. And now with 285/70/17s I'm off 4mph per 40mph. My lift was also put on in between the 2 sets of 265/75s and had no effect on speedometer correction.

I go by 5 different radar signs in my area and 4 different cell phones with GPS. Not looking for perfection but can definitely distinguish between stock till now with all the viarables.

ya know I thought he was serious until I realized it was a troll o_O

also, the TRD package w/locker (at least in 98-00) could be had on the 3RZ with manual trans (not on the auto).

The TRD OffRoad (PreRunner) would be the factory option to have the locker. I'm not entirely sure the dealer would "install" so much as place an order for a Tacoma with a rear locker (custom order)

The main reason why I don't run out and buy a new truck, can't justify dropping 38k to get the same gas mileage and a few extra creature comforts. If I "have" to buy one when mine finally goes then sure, I'll go more boughie :D

my stock 265/70 setup was always 1-2 mph "under" the actual radar and GPS readings. Put on the next size up and it's dam near dead on until after 75 :notsure:

also, back to the original topic, I have the 265/70-17 Falken WilPeak AT3/W in P-rated (did not need or want E) and no difference in gas mileage coming from c-rated Cooper S/T maxx

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
The TRD offroad package would not have been the factory option to have a locker in the years I was asking about... because the TRD offraod option did not exist in 95, 96, 97... TRD began in 1998.

"Custom order" is why I said it's more appropriate to call it a dealer added than dealer installed option. (Dealer ads it to the order)
