Thats the nice thing about Vagabond Drifter also the drifter has better insulation capabilities. The X1 is made with aircraft parts full of empty space that can't be insulated.

It would be rad if SP can offer a roof replacement when I want the x1 tent off so I can run it as a canopy. Maybe in the future when they aren’t swamped with orders

I wonder if that's possible since everything is riveted?

The shop is starting to look like my kid's rooms. Must be busy moving some tops out of there.

Firstly, the SP team couldn’t have been more awesome. My build is #18. They are obviously busy and have sold over 100 X1s so far and are installing 3+ and week. I asked about the RTT and they have paused on them for the time being. In comparison they have only sold a handful of them so far, and are focused on getting the other truck models up and running. @nudavinci64 no 2nd gens around, and it probably won’t help but I snapped this picture of the original X1 Peters 3rd gen short bed for you. I spaced on asking about the 2nd gen shark fin fit, sorry.
It genuinely can’t be said enough about how flipping rad the SP team is. I got there a bit early and they were about to eat lunch and Peter even offered me half of his burrito.
I’ll be traveling for most of the week but if I can answer any questions just let me know.

I did not. It looked pretty great though and as soon as I got on the road I was hungry and regretted it.

I would've. Can you describe the burrito? Did it contain pork product? I just love pork product.

whenever i get a install date i was going to make some fresh pizzas for the team before or after my install, i figure its a good gesture for a team that has been hustling.

Yeah, the Ranger has a ridiculous sharkfin, and antenna..... the do make a stubby antenna, which screws right in. gives ya about 2 inches lower....not sure that's enough.

From the photos I've seen, there appears to be a fair amount of variability in the dimension from the top of the cab to the bottom of the SP overhang (Likely vehicle dependent). I really don't want to remove the antenna base, and would prefer just replacing the antenna with a "Stubby" (2") antenna. Anyone having antenna clearance issues? I paid my deposit in September, and Cindy now tells me "Spring" for my build. I'd like to resolve any potential issues before I make the trip to Oregon.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find consistency in your truck vs a Tacoma, and I wouldn't make plans based on another model TBH. I'd prob go to the smallest antenna you can find and hope it works ha! (or try to get more context from Cindy).

    I
I’d guess 4” gap at center. 4.5 or 5” at the sides.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the actual radio and I don’t have Nav package but the floor and the top are that fiberglass/polypropylene board stuff. Not aluminum or anything that can block radio waves.
