I wish. Burning up some leftover vacation time to get under my roll-over limit of 5 days, so today's my last day this week. But so far it's been a sh*tty week.

the mask makes my beard look real bad, that weird line under my chin with hair rolling back up over the edge of the mask.

Sounds like you maybe need a bigger mask...
    Or a smaller beard :notsure:

I came to the realization too late and will apparently be donating some time this year... I can also only roll over 5 days but have more than that left to lose. I'm off from Thursday through the new year.
    Fixed.

I've been wearing one of those gators so it covers the bottom of my beard. I haven't found any regular masks that are comfortable.

I use those as well. Faster, easier, and more comfortable than a regular mask.

I'm able to roll over 160 hours. Then between 160-240 hours we get paid out, and then lose anything over 240 hours.
Right now I'll end the year at 250 so I'll be taking a day and then some this week or next. It's always a great paycheck when I get my additional 2 weeks paid out.

The company used to let us roll over however much we wanted, then a couple of years ago they switched to paying out 1 week and rolling 1 week, anything else disappeared. This year they announced in November that they were eliminating the payout, allowing 1 week of rollover, and the rest would go bye-bye. Apparently next year they're adopting a 'use it or lose it' policy.

Burning a couple this week for that reason. We did away with rollover a few years ago but this year they're allowing 5 days.

Bah, too bad they couldn't bend a little with everything going on this year

we don't roll over vacation time, comp days can roll into Q1 and Q2 of the following year, staff earns comp days for working weekend shift coverages. I do a lot in the winter and then none in the summer. I typically land between 3-4 weeks taken off throughout the year, I have 3 weeks vacation starting in '21 (5 years with the company wooooo) plus I am rolling I think 8 days into next year from comp time. Vacation time does not carry. I keep track, and I usually only roll 1 or 2 days into the next year so it hasn't been an issue with saying that vacation day X will be a comp day vs Y will be a vacation day, but I will probably have to start that going into next year with 5 weeks vacation essentially o_O

I wish we could 'sell' off some time at the end of the year. They talked about letting us roll over a week, paying out a week and eliminating everything beyond that (actually, I think the condition of them buying it back was that you had to use the rest). They wanted to encourage people to use it, which I fully agree with but I end up losing a lot every year. I do a lot of trips over long weekends, I take a lot of trips with my family, I just don't end up burning up a lot of vacation days.
To be honest, I don't really get too bitter about losing a few days. My work is pretty flexible with my time. My boss isn't exactly making me punch a clock, he knows I put my hours in and is flexible with me so I figure it works out in the wash.

My job is more of a hard and fast thing, but I get what you mean. My second job is a salaried thing and while there are some generally accepted timelines, the reality is there are things that will come up at times and there's no way to know either.

That said it sucks they didn't do something for you guys this year with everything crazy happening. I barely took any time off this year except 2 weeks in summer (which I do, but not back to back like this time).

A few years ago I was on a project and in general it sucked, working above my pay grade all year for 0 extra..plus some things they didn't tell us right away. One was that there would be months at a time of all hands. I was denied several times trying to take vacation and end of the year I had a week to use or lose "we'll see what we can do"..uh no, you'll either give me the week (not ideal for me but hey), grandfather me to carry it, or get me paid for it (not policy). Then the manager (who was a real jerk) gave me the week but acted like she did me some huge favor, which I quickly told her that time is part of my compensation and if she wants to discuss favours I think me doing work I should be making $10k a year more for is what a favour is

Sorry, I missed this, thank you! Have you run lithium batteries in a power wheel? That mltoy website keeps saying its a recipe to tear up gears or motors.

In school, I can't wear the gator, has to be a mask, and I have yet to find one that works. I like to have a big uncontrollable beard and hair, as that's something they (work) can't really say anything about. I shave it down a couple times a year, usually at the beginning of a break.

I need some input from you guys. My MIL is looking for a retirement car. She's currently driving a 2007 Corolla with about 250k miles on it. It's not in good shape, it's beat, she's retired and looking for something comfy. I'm not real up to speed on cars, these are what she's looking at:
VW Arteon (looks like a new Passat)
    A4
    BMW 330i
    Lexus IS 300
    Lexus ES 250
    Volvo S60

I suggested she look at the Acura TLX and maybe even the Mercedes A or C class since they're comparable. The 2 Lexus models don't have great reviews. The base model 330i is rear drive unless upgrade to the X-drive. The other base models are at least front drive to start so I feel you can get by with that in New England but rear drive only wouldn't really work here... Right now, I'm pushing her towards the Volvo, the TLX or the A4 based on the limited research I've done. What do you guys think? (I don't have a dog in this fight so you won't hurt my feelings, just looking for opinions, especially if you have one of these cars)

From my experience with my I'm laws and volvos, they aren't always great. Random cheap stuff falls apart, FILs current s80 or 90 whichever it is turbo and supercharged but has electrical gremlins

    Volv-no.
Expensive to buy, expensive-er to fix, with some really bad reliability ratings last time I knew.
