Time for new tires and not sure I want to buy BFG KO2's for a third time around.

The KO2's are awesome and look the most aggressive looking in my opinion but I might want to try out a different set of rubbers this time around. The KO2's have been great and treated me well but they wear kinda fast for the price and are not that greatest in the rain. I'm in SoCal so the rain part doesn't really bother me but just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone is interested in the tire. Note: Some people claim they fixed that issue

I like an aggressive looking mud terrain tire but I have to go with all terrain since its my daily driver and I only off road on the weekends. I'm barely getting into wheeling and should be hitting the trails by spring. Road noise from the tire doesn't bother me at all and isn't a deal breaker like it is for some. I'm running 265/75/16

I've done my research on the forum and these are the competitors. Always wanted to create a poll on here anyway so it would be cool if you could help me decide by casting a vote

I have the Cooper ST Maxx and can vouch for their greatness on-road, off-road and in the rain. I don't run them in the winter but you're in SoCal so doesn't matter.

Nice, I'm getting tires not only because I need them but because I'm also going up to big bear in January and don't want to be on these old discontinued BFG KO's in the snow. Other than that I doubt they will see much snow days. I really like what I hear about the STT Maxx performance wise, I just wish they had a better looking side wall.

I think you'll get a pretty wide spread on your poll. All those tires are really popular on here.

Falken AT3W is my vote but its not on the list :(

It’s a great all around tire. Snow and wet weather performance is excellent. They are quiet on road while still having an aggressive look to them.

I think you're right. I was pretty set on Ridge Grapplers till I started to dig deep into the forum. That's how I got here. :goingcrazy:

I agree it's a great tire, just don't think it's the tire for me.

I’ve always run KO2s and never had any issues with road noise, longevity, traction, etc. They look neat too

    That's considered an All Terrain!

What a meaty tire! How do they wear compared to the rest? Mines a daily so it see's a lot of pavement.

    Bought mine here. https://www.tires-easy.com/265-75-16/cooper-tires/discoverer-stt-pro/tirecode/90000023634

But in the 35 inch size.

I think they are quiet by comparison to the others, except the bfg at's. In ohio i wasnt a huge fan of the bfg ats in winter, too much wheel spin. The coopers are quiet for a mud tire, IMO. I drove them more on road than off in the last 2 years, never had a complaint from any passengers20201129_165035.jpg .

I appreciate the feedback! If I can afford it, I'd like to see what those are made of. Definitely the most expensive of the bunch but man they are aggressive for an "All-Season". The local shop near my house is having a sale of buy 3 get one free so I might be able to use that to compensate for a more expensive tire.

Just read the reviews. Worth it, and i tend to be super adverse to spending a bunch of cash, but tires are worth it.

Compare the prices of your choices. You may find the Michelins are only a few bucks more.......

Thanks, the Xterra has been reliable and a tank from day one. But, no new Xterras to buy. I'm sure if they make another it will be a minivan. The Tacoma aftermarket suport and reliability is what got my business.
