It's a noise maker. If the money is worth it to you then it's worth it to you.

If your goal is more intake noise and you like the visual looks then you are good to go.

Does it really honestly matter what we suggest when half of us will likely end up with our opinions out voted by the other half you do decide to go with? Hahaha, personal cost is not the same at personal value.

The ECU will end up compensating the air:fuel ratio...any gains will be as mysterious as a pink unicorn...haha. But it will sound a teeny bit different.

It does not. The truck's intake is already a CAI. The TRD one is literally just a noise box.

Well...I will add...a TRD intake is just as performance enhancing as the TRD sticker labeled radiator cap o_O

I'm curious about what leads so many people to the desire to alter their intake on these trucks? Is because a previously owned vehicle got benefit from it?

No judging, but it never made sense to me. I havent really looked at intakes since computer controlled emissions became standard equipment. I did pop the hood out of curiosity after reading thread after thread on this subject though. The air box on these trucks is humongous. I've had v8's with smaller filters than this one. I feel pretty confident that it has no problem drawing a breath even after a week spent playing in the dust. So, I dont get it. Why feel the need to mess with the intake, of all things? :notsure:

Can always do "poor man's" trd intake. Much cheaper option, result is the same.

K&N 63 series short intake made a big difference on my 4.0L in my ranger. Throttle response was waay better also more low end torque. Didnt have to downshift on the same hills and the truck made it up no problems. Sounded amazing as well. I noticed no difference in top end.

It was quite restrictive stock intake IMO. The tube that sucked in cold air from under the headlight was tiny and the air box was pretty small as well.

Taco uses same airbox as 5.7 tundra, so an intake wont do much except for excellent noise and maybe a bit better throttle response.

It does feel like throttle response is better after i installed my poor man's trd intake, which is important for me as an MT driver and it growls nicely as well of course.
