That's wild. When I was working in the letter agencies, we had a chance to go tour the NRO HQ, and most of us went "...who?"

Coolest tour I've been on to date.

Russian pride at it's finest. Bragging about surviving in the cold sub-artic winter. Go to Russia, first thing they complain about is the cold

Replace "Russia" with "Maine" and you got Maine.

I'm from Seattle. We don't shut up about how much it rains...yet we choose to live there.

It might still be in the SpaceX broadcast of the launch. I think it was 15 or so minutes before liftoff.

Adding to this was the secrecy and stopped coverage upon second stage separation “at the request of our customer”. :spy:

Because the sub artic is warmer than mars? It's actually very rare that russia even mentions the spacex name. They really don't like them.

Yeah, Rogozin’s gonna find himself looking for discarded boosters out there soon enough.

These governments and companies need to start. After nearly a decade of proving it's possible to recover boosters, spacex is still the only one doing it. You'd think them undercutting other launch providers by 500% would have been enough motivation for others to at least try.

It's a joke that Russia moved their launches so far North. I get that they don't want to be at the mercy, even though it's kind of not a big deal, of one of their allies for launches. Moving that far north though makes zero sense. Near Sochi there's a desert with literally nothing in it and they could drop the 1st stages over the Caspian and the 2nd over the Arial Hot Mess. Everything there revolves around Moscow I guess, they have to have to rockets close and dropping stages into random forested terrain lol.

There's probably some madman with a 80k line excel sheet orchestrating the whole thing.

 I remember we used to make the 777 wing attachment assemblies, and our inventory turns would change by a full turn every time we delivered a pair.

    Can only imagine for rockets.
