Depends on what you are doing with the truck. Do you need steps or rock sliders? I wouldn't touch the engine, transmission, or drive train under warranty if it's your daily.

All other "bolt on parts" like the predator tub steps, skid plates and bed cover etc.. can be purchased after market. These can be removed if you sell the truck.. I'd invest is a good torque wrench, basic tools and get used to watching YouTube videos.

My black emblems/overlays were $40 on Amazon. I'll be sticking them on myself.

Thanks. That is what I am planning on. This is just a daily driver 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport Cement Gray 2WD Double Cab Long Bed, came with Technology Package and All weather mats and door sill protectors. I would prefer steps to make it easier for the kids and wife to get in and out of the truck. I prefer the look of the predator tube steps over the 5" ovals from factory or other steps that I have seen online. I noticed on Amazon the OEM Predator Tube Steps are $605 which is only about a $44 savings from the dealer, but I would save in dealer labor costs doing them myself. Also want to add the black tailgate insert and blackout emblem overlays. Do you have have a link to the emblems/overlays you found?

New here to Tacoma World so forgive my ignorance. Also suck at navigating forums for some reason. Is someone saying what I paid is a lie? If so I have this thing called a bill of sale I will share. I said to the salesman if you get me $37k OTD we got a deal and that's exactly what happened.
Just bought a 2021 Tacoma Offroad MT this past Halloween. My 2006 Ridgeline (am I allowed to say that word here? haha) of 11 years was hit and totaled September 2021. I always liked the Tacoma and really didn't want another Ridgeline because i just don't like the new body style. So I searched for 1.5 months to find what I wanted and am very pleased so far. FYI I am 55 years old but 12 in my head.
    Mods so far:
    1. MBRP turn down SS exhaust. It's stupid loud but stupid fun. Especially with the MT.
    2. OEM running boards.
    3. OEM mud flaps.
    4. Tinted front door windows (35%) and visor strip (20%, I am much happier with this mod than I anticipated.)
    5. Removed TRD stickers on bed, removed V6 emblem on tailgate (cause V-6's are so rare, NOT) and the Tacoma badge on the front doors.

    To do list:
    1. Bed cover. Want OEM but for some stupid reason it can't be bought from the dealer. So this is a work in progress........... FYI talked to the people at tonneaucoverfactoryoutlet and they were super cool and helpful.
    2. CAI. Waiting for the aFe Momentum GT and snorkel to go on sale.
    3. I have the Spiker Engineering hood struts but want to put on CAI before putting them on because I read that some CAI interfere with the struts. My good friend is a metal fabricator/welder and can make anything work. I have very little mechanical skills or tools.

In Missouri, You have to pay property taxes on any Vehicles you own on Jan 1st. Even if you just bought it Dec. 31st. So by waiting until 01/02/2021 I don't need to declare it until 01/01/2022 and won't have to pay personal property taxes on it until December 2022.

if you dont mind me asking, what is the tax percentage on the vehicle? I mean in NJ we have to renew registration every yr for about $100.

If they made the TRD Pro with a 6' bed I would be more interested in one for some of the reasons you list. But I've never really considered one - the 5' bed just isn't enough for me for solo camping and bikes without having to remove the front wheel.

Same thoughts for me! A loaded TRD OR is about $3,000 less than a TRD Pro. But, the limitations of a 5' bed eliminated the Pro from my choices. I would jump on a 6' in the Pro setup if they were available!

I was offered 40,750 out the door for a 2021 TRD OR 4x4 DC AT LB, with technology package and led lights. That's in central Texas. What do you guys think?

I am hoping to get that same truck with the Premium Package for around $41,000. MSRP $45,500. I am playing the waiting game in hopes that the inventory will increase shortly. I am in no hurry!

What's a good OTD price for 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x2 Double Cab 5' Army Green? This Florida dealership offers 37.5k OTD.

OTD price is very hard to compare nationwide. What's the MSRP on that build? You can use the other posts in this thread to see if it's a 'good' deal or not.

MSRP 36.2k excludes dealer fees, sale taxes, license, registration and title fees.

now you need the dealers price before sales tax, license, registration, and title fees.

Dealer fees are not the same everywhere and while perhaps not a scam can be a profit center.

The other shell game is trade in negotiations.

Not to be rude but did you read the first post of this thread?

*On a side note: To avoid confusion, please try to refrain from using OTD prices. OTD can be vastly different based on trade, taxes, fees, etc. The best way to gauge discounts and pricing is by comparing the MSRP / sticker to the sale price prior to all the other stuff.

Just picked up my new 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport in Voodoo Blue. LED Headlight and fog light package. Premium Sport Package. Technology package. Some other misc addons (cargo lights, predator steps, etc). MSRP $42391. After discounts and Toyota rebate is came to $36,727.99 before TTL. My calculations say that’s a 13.3% discount. Seems like a pretty good deal to me! :)
