We all had to learn at some point.
If you’re going for looks, it’s not complicated.

Once you get on the trail, it get “complicated”

I know from experience that a lifted truck still gets stuck.
And rather quickly if you don’t know what you’re doing. ( I still don’t know everything)

Doesn't the 3rd gen TRD OR come with suspension lift and HD shocks/billies?

No, they come with Hitachi or similar on the prerunner. The 4300 or on the OR model, but not labeled bilstein.

I had 4WD, it was the frames fault.
It decided to bury itself in mud.

No way it was my fault. I knew I could “make it”. :duh:

    To quote the tow drive;
We’re going to need a bigger truck to get you out. How the hell did you get so stuck?”

I have heard the same phrase, put my 2wd ford ranger buried to the frame on a lake shore.... thank god the tow truck driver had 300 yards of line on that winch:rofl:.
Got my mom and I stuck trying to make a 3 point turn out of a secluded cove looking for fishing spots.

I do want the off road performance to be there when I need it. I’m 59 and no longer want to stick my truck in shitty situations just to see if I can get through it. Sometimes I’m fishing rivers and just want to get to point b with confidence

    Unfortunately, that may never happen.
Just cause you got a aftermarket suspension, doesn't mean you are gonna make it.:hattip:

I broke the weld on my trd skid plate this weekend and knocked the fuck out of my alignment.
The 5100's on the 2nd notch of a stock spring and a add a leaf in the back will serve you well. Just don't over do it like you are in the baja 1000.

I don’t like try things anymore either.
The clean up the is worst part.

Plus, my truck is all I have now.
No more motorcycle as a back up.
If the truck breaks I’m bumming a ride or walking.

Your 4WD Tacoma is quite capable as is. Adding 2" lift won't change ground clearance. Bury the axles, you're stuck then you need traction boards or a winch or Tow straps and 2nd 4WD.
If you just want it to look "Beefier"
    you sacrifice driveability and longivity
while adding unwanted vibration and the need for steps to get in and out.

    Looks are subjective.
I say, yes. But that’s opinion.

    You will need an alignment.

Stock rims and bigger tires = rubbing somewhere.. no matter of lift.
    265/75/16
    265/70/17
Is as big as you can go.
255s in stock rims rub the uca and spring sometimes and 285s rub everything.
