@Norilsk doesnt understand this and expects me to figure shit out in a day.....should have seen his bumper....:boom:

the only reason I am debating over steel is the durability. I have found with welded aluminum it tends to crack. The uteltd bed is all bolted together for that reason. For a cap, I’m thinking steel especially if I get friendly with a tree again. Mind you the aluminum cap held up. Just harder to fix. Still weighing the options.

I am here since page 25, a shameful post, back in my PreRunner days:anonymous:

Hey everyone is asking where to get those and when Gen 2 coming out, so we are making more of those!:luvya:

Steel bed using angle beams as outer frame and planks of wood/mesh as a platform is best option for what we encounter. on the rocks :bikewhoops:

For more overland and easy lifestyle, aluminum is a good option. Still got to pray MTO doesn't pull you over tho, since law is very vague.

I would choose plywood for the flat area, and seal it really good with water proof polyorethene. Lighter and lasts, and when it's time to replace, it's easy and cheap to replace.
You can bang that thing, and repair it once a while, sand it, seal it. Make holes to install anchors, patch holes if you change your mind, etc...

For the sides, if you can afford, aluminum.

Ive made 100% of the stuff on my truck starting with the skids. Honestly the worst part about it is just how much you have to crawl under the truck to measure and keep checking fitment.

im about $200 in on skids
$300 on sliders and $300 on bumper
If you already have the tools it just takes time.

For his sake, he better price it at a point where he is not working without return.

Better no sales than sales without profit.

I like The idea of creating an option that is more affordable and unfinished or let's say a frame and the client chooses how to finish it.

I don't need this kind of product , I am just thinking on the business perspective/ what clients may want.

I wat it cheap, durable, light, easy to modify and repair, oh and must be yesterday. Did I say I want it cheap? /s

There is huge potential market in USA, and I hope it sells well! Canada is dead for the most part. People can barely afford Netflix subscription and pay for food at the same time here.

Toyota* off-road market here is DIY or bring your parts from USA since it's much cheaper.
