We're looking at the exact same model, the 17JG. How do you like it? How does it pull on hills? We're considering taking it to Colorado from time to time.

I was thinking the same thing, surprisingly good results considering the speed. I hit a moderately sized while tail at 45-50 that must have been in mid jump, as it flew straight up, and I passed underneath it. Saw it get up and run off in the mirrors. The morning review was some free fur on the ARB and a slight uplift on the bumper. I once hit a squirrel at around 125 in a Saab 9-5 that did a surprising small amount of damage that proved impossible to repaint as the rubber bumper cover was permanently deformed as if melted.

I don't normally see squirrels around or on highways. Where in the world were you going 125 that you hit a squirrel?

The tacoma is a coastal offroad weld together kit and its all 3/16 steel, uts held up great. However the 4runner is an allpro and if I remember correctly I was going 60 when I hit the deer and the bumper bent inwards about 4in and some welds cracked. Ended up having to pull it straight and weld it back up.

PA, big stretch by the Barracks where I had some friends stationed. They like to go fast too, so we set it up, and they pull me over. Coffee and donuts. Just bad timing on the squirrel, but there are zillion more up here. The ignition starts cutting at 142, but it was still pulling firmly as it hit 140.

It's funny but the amount of pics and comments I've seen on here of people hitting deer makes me really want to get a front bumper grill guard just for deer. I just would love one that's bolt-on without cutting. Any suggestions?

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I'm going to be selling my bolt on Armodillo in favor of a stronger, full hoop bumper. Saw three fresh kills this morning and almost had the fourth one.

I'm doing some research on a front bumper and plan getting it soon. Looking for some input on recommendations. While I like the look of the baja style, I'm thinking full hoops. And I like the ARB, but would like to save some weight. (I went heavy on the front coils, so the suspension can handle it.) Any thought on the hoops - damage multipliers? Thanks in advance.

I don't think ARB's full-hoop design would act as a "damage multiplier." Their bumper is purpose-built to take hits while protecting the truck and occupants. I can't speak to any other brand of full-hoop bumper, especially considering none of them are crash tested to my knowledge.
