It is just a general automotive question. If you swap the engine, do you need to swap the transmission as well? I know its best to swap when you take the engine out. Also if you have had an engine swap, or have a vehicle with an engine swap, could you swap the transmission for the vehicle, or would you need to get a transmission specifically for the engine?

No you don’t have to swap the transmission.
If your transmission is fine, I’d keep it.
Sometimes depending on the model changes you may have to swap connections, etc.
That’s work I would rather not do if I don’t have too?

    Sometimes you can swap transmissions.
I really depends on the vehicle, year, type transmission.
To keep it “simple”. I wouldn’t swap a different transmission if I didn’t have GOOD reason.

If you are swapping the same engine as stock then you are fine with the current transmission
