We're not doing much this year for Xmas.. we definately have the spirit, so we've put up a small tree and some decorations, probably do the zoom, facetime thing. We will be glad if/when we can return to the normal chaos. Seems like the vaccine(s) are slow to materialize. George (below) was absolutely right! Meanwhile, life is good.

Morning folks. Whose turn was it to decorate the porch this year?
Truck looks great Mark. I don't decorate much but always appreciate seeing the decorations others put up:thumbsup:. By the way, love the sweater:D.

Speaking of grinch's, a neighbor had a Nativity scene (plywood one painted white. Several others in neighborhood have them as well.) set up in the front yard and a neighbor complained that they found it offensive and they need to remove it. They told them to suck it up. The Nativity owner went around on the street with a petition asking people if they found it offensive and guess what...the only one who did was the person who originally complained. Go figure. Coal in their stockings this yearo_O.

Good Moring Porchies! Love the lights, Mark! I have some little battery powered fairy lights I got for a Cars & Coffee Christmas meet, but they are too small for anything but parked fun. They will ticket you here in Texas too for running them on the street too, Mike. We're not going anywhere, so the house and tree will do. :santa:

Think about how long it takes everyone to get Flu shots, and you'll think the number of Cov vaccinations is amazing!

Jusr remind the complainant that it’s protected speech just like his. That’s until some panty waste decides it’s hate speech. The the complaints right overrule the nativity scene owners.

Hello over sixty crowd! Just stumbled on this forum. Looks like my kind of people, at least the same amount of life experiences. My intro: name's Tom. Live in Corning, NY, but spent more than the first half my life in W. Va. I'm on my 4th Toyota truck, going back to the early-80's, late 70's 4WD, that lived most of its life in the oil fields of WV (it was ROUGH, but serviceable), '82 bought from the original owner, 4 cyl. 4WD, that was in great shape, bought a brand new '92 x-cab V6 4sp 4WD, and in '05 bought my current '04 DCSB. It was wrecked (salvage title), and repaired prior to my ownership, but was well repaired. Basically few mods up until around 2017 (biggest was stainless exhaust), when I stumbled into TW. Since then, I have had the frame replaced mostly on Toyota's dime. Sound deadening, BMW seats, built DIY front and rear plate bumpers (courtesy of a dumbass lady that banged up my rear bumper and bed corner), Satochi grille, replaced passenger doors and bed with FL salvage parts, all while doing a Raptor liner paint job. That's the big stuff. Lot's of little mods, and constant maintenance and rust prevention. So that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

I live in the Bible Belt , so that probably wouldn't happen here unless there is some kinda HOA deal. But either way , i would tell them which cheek to kiss.

    Good Luck with the Flinter.
I used to hunt Pa's late season and i think they got it right with Flintlocks.. I really miss it.
Unfortunately where I am in ct, I don't have the proper land to hunt locally where I can use one. Kind of sucks.

As mentioned earlier, Kilauea volcano is erupting. No threat to any homes or buildings, only lava pooling in the crater. BUT...how are some people so damn stoopid. A family with small kids were in a prohibited zone right along the crater's edge with no fucks given, kids just running around. From the crater edge to the bottom (where the lava is) is a 400' drop. The crater's edge is not stable ground, and landslides happen all the time, so hey, let's go play there!

Reminds me of the dummies at Yellowstone falling into hot springs.

    Tourists.

Hello 60's/wannabes/Susan. Apologies for absence, I have been distracted by a possible Xmas gift for self that would definitely not fit under the tree.

We live in a Pennsylvania bank barn that has been converted from horse, cow, and pig use to human use. The main floor is pretty wide open and blissfully the former owners chose to leave it that way during the conversion. Heat from the stove goes in every direction. We have some flagstone directly under and behind it, then a copper standoff running up the post behind the chimney. So far (33 years and counting) so good.

    Me too.

That's Mr. Big. We got him and Mr. Gray from a couple who had just had a baby who turned out to be allergic to cats. They seem to have taken well to the place. Both are in their teens. Mr. Big has arthritis, he really appreciates the heat. Both of them will lay there with their bellies facing the fire after a meal.

    Glad to hear it cheech.

I won't comment directly on the gun chat either, mostly because I'm not a real big gun person. I learn a lot from y'alls discussions regarding firearms. That said, I have a pretty big problem with a lot of the stupid crap people are attempting to outlaw these days, not just 2nd Amendment stuff. I mean, I used to get home from school, throw my books on the table, run back out the door, and disappear into the woods with my friends until we heard someone's mom shouting dinner. These days a kid can't use a swingset without both parents present. And a lawyer. I say we take Shakepeare's advice.

:facepalm:Some people just don't have a lick of common sense, but they know how call a lawyer if one of the kids got hurt because the area wasn't fenced off and there wasn't a warning sign every 6 inches saying danger stay out . Just glad you are far away and safe cheech. Like Dave in his previous post said "I say we take Shakespeare's advice".

Shakespeare’s advice re lawyers from Henry VI is perhaps a little harsh but I certainly understand it. I once had a plaque made for one of our corporate attorneys with Shakespeare’s quote on it. He and I argued incessantly about certain corporate positions and procedures so I thought the plaque was appropriate. He did display the plaque on his credenza and we saw more eye to eye after that.

Welcome to the porch, Tom!! I'm not too far away from you down in northeast PA. Lots of great folks here. Grab a rocker and a cold one from the cooler. Oh, and the new folks have to fill the cooler.:rofl::cheers:

And, a hearty good morning on this Christmas Eve. We are supposed to get a substantial amount of rain and warm temps today followed by a fast drop below freezing tomorrow morning. Should be interesting - under a flood watch now.

Stay safe and warm, my friends!!
