some avid .22 shooters in this thread here:https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...s-all-makes-and-models-welcome.374283/page-28
Might be worth asking there as well

Depending on the Traeger model, I can see why.

I'll look at all brands, but very few are insulated like the Timberline model is and Costco prices are hard to beat and I have a ~$800 rebate coming in March and goes a long way toward a grill.

I posted some pictures a few pages back of the first one. I'll post up some more of the new build when I get home from work.

Get the BEST bolt you can afford. The biggest knock on Grendels are how they are rough on bolts. The extractors also need to be polished slightly and the corner edges smoothed out. 18" barrels in stainless steel have worked the best for my needs. I have a 20" stainless that works great also but is heavy to carry.

I ordered the Saltworks AR-10 6.5 Creedmoor and AR-15 back in April and got it 2 days ago. Optics I got the Vortex Spitfire 3x prism scope and Crossfire 4-12x 40 (Was supposed to go on fiance's AR until she didn't want the AR) in August. Just added the optics last night so the rifles wouldn't be naked. I do need better optics for the AR-10 probably go with a NightForce or Vortex Razor and still needs slings and a bunch of other accessories, but that'll have to wait until April-May next year since I got a bunch of Tacoma parts to buy.

These are actually the first rifles I ever owned. Haven't played with rifles in almost 22 years since the Marines. Never really felt the need to own rifles then I started watching Youtube videos of Texans going on hog hunts in their Tacomas, which got me to buy a Tacoma and rifles and soon probably a house in Texas lol

Way to expensive to ride along with that inexperienced of a team.

part of me wants to say "bro, bacon is priceless bro"
but yea I agree from the videos I have seen on youtube, it is not a typical helicopter tour joy ride, really would require some trust in the pilot for sure

And those look like typical joy ride pilots. One comment in their bio is how highly trained in low level flight they are.

I was told that Kobe Bryant's pilot was "highly trained" as well...

Faster isn't always better. On most 22LR your going to lose speed/energy quickly. Most match 22LR ammo we shoot is subsonic for a reason; we don't want the inaccuracy of going through trans sonic. In other words, we opt for a slower round to avoid going through the inevitable stage of trans sonic, that a standard 22LR will go through shortly.
The SK Red box match I shoot, I'm showing about 1,020fps on the chronograph.
I still remember my MR and LR instructor's analogy; he said going through trans sonic, is like a boat speeding in to a no wake zone and chopping the throttle,,,, the boat will slow, and it's own wake will catch up and rock it. The sound waves act the same way.
