    I've looked in the different data bases as well and same for me doesn't pop up yet I know their service record and have seen or have in hand their information including some pictures receiving the awards. Seems a lot of those databases are self reporting too.

    The one that I am most confused about is a ribbon my grandfather has. It's a pistol marksman or something like that from what I've found on it yet according to the sources I have found it wasn't given until korean war era and he was long out of the Navy at that time. I haven't found anyone that knows enough to tell me what it really means or if it is the pistol ribbon just the dates I've found were wrong.
