Just venting and I understand the cause and the problems. I've ordered some parts from various sources and they were shipped out in a timely manner, only to fall into the USPS, UPS, and FedEx abyss. The waiting is killing me. One item has been in the same state it was shipped from for 3 weeks.......

I'm sure other folks are experiencing similar delays. It's soooooooooo frustrating.......

I ordered some parts November 30th, and haven't heard anything since the order confirmation.

I always track anything coming to me no matter how mundane or small (as long as there's tracking) - it's just a thing I have.

Ever since Covid, it's been WAY worse than "usual." In early Summer, I won an OTC smoke machine and the seller shipped USPS. It took 45 days from Florida to NH.

I've seen stuff (USPS) travel from wherever, it gets as close as Manchester NH (the main town over from me), back to South Carolina, then back to MA, sit there for awhile, then back to NH, and finally to me.

I had a package sit at the Londonderry, NH center (Fedex) as "on the truck for delivery" for 4 days before it was finally delivered. Just this Monday, same thing. Package showed as on the truck on Monday and not delivered until yesterday (Wednesday) - and it was shipped Fedex 2 day shipping last Thursday.

For UPS, I've had two packages show as "out for delivery," only to later be flagged as "undeliverable due to weather" (when nothing was going on - before winter) and delivered the following day. Though I must say, out of the three, UPS has been the best overall.

I'm much the same way. Knowing when items will arrive allows me to schedule and budget time for projects. I suppose that it's a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things, considering the severity of the pandemic.

That feeling is all too familiar! The abyss substantially increases in size during the holidays with these carriers..

I havent had issues for years.. Now I frequently expect a package o the same day only to receive a "delay" instead of the expected arrival time. :boink:

I guess I've been lucky. Most of my packages have arrived on time or even early. I did have one seemingly lost at sea for a month though.

    Stock for now.. maybe
My dad sent two packages from Alabama the same day... late November. One going to north Carolina the other to Gander Newfoundland. Packages usually take 2 weeks to make the journey to Gander

Gander package arrive in 7 days

I just received mine in north Carolina today! Almost a month later. Crazy

It's almost comical when you watch the tracking and a package tours the continental US. That is, if you aren't in dire need of the product. I'm not slamming the delivery services because I understand why the delays are occurring. Prior to the pandemic, all the services were very good with rare exceptions. Now those exceptions are the norm.....

As someone who lives in Alaska, this is extremely entertaining.

You can double, or triple any time quoted by shipping companies for us up here. Free Amazon prime shipping? Two weeks minimum. Two day? Takes 4-5 business days. The only thing that is guaranteed within two days is overnight shipping, which usually exceeds the cost of the item purchased.

With that said, the only items I've ordered and paid attention to in the last year were a set of tires from tirerack, and my PS5. Both shipped via Fedex, and both arrived early or on time as quoted. Surprised the hell out of me.

My mom ordered masks when this pandemic all started. The package was only supposed to travel from NY to RI, but somehow got a tour all the way to Cali and even Puerto Rico before simply being lost.

My brotha from the 49th state!

I no longer hold my breath on shipping ETA’s. It gets here when it get’s here unless I desperately need it then I’ll pay 5x the cost of the product in shipping lol.

for real, if we didn't have the new vaccine available in 10 months time instead of the usual red tape would have been 10 years there would be much more suffering like you could never imagine, God bless America for having faculties to produce it, and in reality saving the World, best Christmas present there could ever been IMO

This is the wrong time of the year to order anything you need NOW! Feel your pain since I'm waiting on other non Tacoma items I thought would be here before Christmas and are stuck in St. Louis, Mo USPS system.

I know it shouldn't but it always frustrates me when a mod doesn't arrive before the next camping trip. How many fires have I morosely stared into, knowing that those badass Meso red dome lights that I could totally have used on this trip, are probably sitting on my porch 200 miles away. :annoyed:

To be fair, it does give me something fun to do when I get back. And the next camp trip is that much sweeter. :D
