That’s the idea. Keep it lightweight and functional. Everything I need, nothing I don’t.

thats how I want to build my GX. The truck was a great learning experience. It actually drives so much better with all the stuff/weight off of it.

Especially with the miles it sounds like you’re putting in. (Though maybe you’ll have a smaller car soon?)

All depends on what you want to do with it and use it. The US has just adopted this everything steel build an Austin tourer style rig with no real "tracks" like that.

yeah thinking that a Camry might be in order for a DD. Not completely sold on the idea, but it’s in the cards once truck is sold or possibly traded in for one.

I do like having a backup vehicle though...

That’s why I’m keeping the ‘04 T4R, extra car, I’ve put 3000+ work miles on this year.

Nothing crazy. URE would be the most difficult trails it will see.

It’s gonna be basic. Kings, 33’s, Al skids, sliders, roof rack, maybe a Al front bumper and steel rear bumper later.

Already have my dual battery setup to swap over, along with some BD lights, SwitchPros power tray setup and ARB single OBA.

with all the maintenance the GX needs I really don’t want it to be my DD unless totally necessary. More or less just something to mess around with and take my time doing things to it.

Yeah it’s a great car, 245k on the clock but I’d drive it across country tomorrow.

If it wasn’t for the bambino on the way she’d still be driving it.

Incrementally. Not a big of a difference as the jump from 3rd to 4th Gen. Our old ‘99 felt small. 4th Gen feels smaller than my truck, 5th get maybe a little bigger but still feels midsize.

You got that right. Took me 7 years of flying for the airlines to make over $40k! But that was due to a furlough, and later switching airlines. Each time you start at a new company, your pay goes all the way back to the bottom.

I know someone who's in the same boat flies a cargo version of the 747 took him forever to make any money. He became a pilot through the AF though. He still makes a lot less than the equivalent pilot flying for delta or the likes

I may have said something like that when justifying the purchase to the wife.

Thats a misconception my ride as a baby was a 72 nova ss 396. It was like rocking me to sleep dad would take me for a ride around the neighborhood.
