Rear studs are super easy to replace. Which is fortunate because they are super easy to snap. I know both to be true.

Jack up rear of truck from pumpkin, remove wheel. Get you a metric bolt of a forgotten size (like 8 or 10mm I think) to pop the drum hat off, turn the hub until the broken stud lines up with hole in back of drum, pound out.
Put new stud in, use nut to seat seat, remove nut, put on wheel, and lug nuts to torque.

Takes about as long to explain as to do.

Great quick and lowdown on the job, I might add a few washers just in case for seating that stud. Fortunately haven't had to replace one in ages.

And a little never seize wouldn't hurt on the threads/nut face for this operation.

Might want to rethink buying harbor freight tools and I never use a torque wrench on wheels .

Hard to believe but a coworker brought his Horrible Fright torque wrench into work where we have checking devices. It was surprisingly close. Not like high dollar Snap On, but still..

The pusher bolts are M8. However, I never had success with this method - usually the brake shoes have worn a groove inside the drum and will get caught on the lip. Continuing driving in the bolts will actually warp the drum. I always had to retract the shoes first with the star adjuster - not a big deal but it'll be necessary to re-adjust the shoes per FSM when done.

A vice and a set of vice grips. Or a vice, a spare scrap nut, a welder, and a wrench. I can think of a few other ways, but a vice comes into most of those ideas. So if you don't have access to that...

Either vice or vice grips. Easiest is to Uber to the local auto supply.

Vise grips should be sufficient. Not worth the effort to do anything more - just buy a new lugnut from a local store or the dealer (they're common across many Toyota models). You can putt around town with a broken stud if you need to.

Yeah, my small shop vice would be my first go to, put the whammy on that stud then just use a socket to unscrew it off. Get creative, you'll get it.

Good to see the spelling police hasn't caught on to this thread.

Be careful with your vices. Fall behind on debts to the wrong people, and they might stick your head in a vise.

Just in case it hasn’t been mentioned: use anti-seize when installing the new stud. Clean up the excess after install. Re torque a few times after installing. It can take some time for them to fully seat up. And you can drive with one broken stud for a while. Take the time to get the right stuff.
