I installed OEM Toyota predator tube steps on my 2020 in June. I found them through the parts.toyota.com website for $530 with free shipping (included tax). They’re very easy to install. I know there’s cheaper aftermarket ones, but these are powder coated aluminum and hold up better on the upstate NY heavily salted roads. I had a set on my 2016 and they still looked good when I traded it in.

Longtime reader of TacomaWorld, finally made an account today. Been looking for a particular Tacoma build for about a year now and finally found a truck coming into a local dealership mid-January that meets those specifications. Thought I would share some of my collected info which I'll be using for my first serious attempt (though I have low expectations and expect them to laugh at my offer, based on months of emails with Denver area dealers/ auto brokers).

Configuration: 2021 Toyota Tacoma, 4x4, Double Cab, 5 ft bed, TRD Off-Road trim, cement or silver sky metallic
Options: LED headlight (500 MSRP), and Basic Tech package (800 MSRP)

    MSRP + Destination w/options
    Truecar: 39,255
    NADA: 39,740
    Toyota.com: 39,660
    Average:39,551
    Invoice Online
-Costco 35,700 (w/destination and no options)
-NADA 36,800 with (w/destination and options)
    -Truecar 36,500 (w/destination and options)
    -Car.Buying.Strategies 35,700 (w/destination and no options)
    Average:36,175
    Percent off MSRP
(based on 40,000 MSRP and estimated 3500 TTL in Colorado)

    -12% 35,200 OTD:38,700
    -10% 36,000 OTD:39,500
    -8% 36,800 OTD:40,300
    Examples Pre-TTL
The following numbers are from this thread and other sources of self reported amounts prior to TTL with comparable builds/ specifications (I did not include access cab or fully loaded examples)

I don't know what the Manufacturer incentive will be starting January of 2021, hopefully it stays close to 1,000. I will report back after I go through the whole process (test drive and negotiations).

Sales tax as remember from my last purchase is just under 9%. Personal property taxes (of which about 80% goes to the school district) are based on vehicle valuation. My 1993 f150 was $20.00, my 2015 Expedition was around $375.00. registration for truck is based on licensed weight and can be renewed for 1 yea or 2 years. I believe my last two year registration was around $65.00.

That's a smokin' deal and pretty much unheard of in CA. Where are you located if I may ask?

Yeah, it was definitely the best deal I was able to manage. I checked with literally all ~15 dealerships within 50 or so miles. 90% didn’t want to do anything worth noting. A couple would do around 10% off. This dealership had pretty much the specific truck I was looking for pop up online so I called and negotiated everything before going in. Nothing changed on their end when I got there. Also, they originally quoted me with their $599 pinstripe, window tent, etc package, but none of that had been done so I told them not to do it and they took that off (wasn’t factored into my price I listed in the previous post).

    Texas. Dallas/Fort Worth area.

I think the 12% off MSRP is doable if they continue the $1000 rebate for your region, given the lower MSRP, easier to get to that number than say a more optioned truck. Prior to all this nonsense, myself and others with some effort got to 12-13% off MSRP without rebates, so its doable, just gonna be the supply / demand situation and if dealers in your area are willing to play ball, but sounds like you've done your homework, and yes invoice is a made up number as you can see if fluxuates, I've seen dealers give different "invoice" numbers for the same config as well, just another way to get you thinking they are losing money on a deal.

I think my saga is nearly over. Having waited two months for the time I (tried to) place an order with still no confirmation from Toyota that my order had been received, I started looking to other dealers again. This resulted in my original dealer reaching back out to me with two options.
    1. My order would finally be "rushed" with the hope it'll arrive by the end of January, but the factory is apparently pretty backed up in Mexico, so no true promise.
    OR
    2. They were able to acquire a TRD OR DCLB. Its not the color I was trying to order, and has $1.8k in additional equipment I hadn't ordered, but they will include all of that in for free. So $1.5k off MSRP of stock model ($39k), plus current rebate.

I took the second option. Currently up at our cabin for the holidays. I'm hoping to get all the paperwork straightened out so I can pick it up on our way through Monday.

Hey there - tried to search this thread, so please don't flog me if I missed it - but does anyone have any NorCal dealers that they've had good experiences with that they could refer one to? Looking for a '21 TRD OR DCSB but haven't had too much luck getting either of the Bay Area dealers I've talked to yet support trading for the build I'm looking for, instead trying to hawk the models they have in inventory.

Yes, only $1000 off, was $750 on the their website, I negotiate better trade-in value. My last car also not much room off MSRP.
I didn't want the Tri-fold tonneau from factory, dealer said they can't remove it from factory, I may sell it in spring.

can I ask what you mean by this? Looking to buy a Tacoma and LED bulbs are important to me. Is there something I should look out for buying to prevent getting the “wrong” type of LED’s mentioned above?

I’m a little late to the game on this thread, but I’m Looking to buy a 2021 TRD OR 4x4 short bed, AT, but dealers in SoCal are not budging that much below MSRP. Best I was able to get was 42k OTD for one.

The worst part is, I want a cement gray one, but all dealers asking for way above MSRP. Costco program yielded a 44k OTD for a silver one...

What can I realistically do to get my hands on a Cement one for 1-2k below MSRP? Or atleast a bit below...

Buy a plane ticket to Arizona. There’s been a fair number of people on this thread who have done that. The dealers there are familiar with the smog regulations and have a process in place to take care of that.

He means this option. “LED headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and black bezel LED fog lights. $485.“

I think there’s another one that is just the fog lights that it’s like $395. You don’t want that or anything that isn’t the $485 option above.

Just got mine on Tuesday... I ABSOLOUTLEY LOVE THIS TRUCK!

2021 Limited 4x4 Wind Chill Pearl

    MSRP $44,587
    Dealer discount $2,113
    Regional rebate $1,250
    Sales Price $41,224

    Trade in $4,000
    Dealer Fees $799
    Sales Tax $2,461

    OTD $40,517

Not sure if it is a screaming hot deal, but I am plenty happy with the truck and the price I paid. Limiteds are hard to come by here in NW FL. I found this one in Chattanooga, TN before Thanksgiving and negotiated the price and put a deposit on a truck with a month long wait before it got to the dealer. Folks at Toyota of Cleveland (TN) were great to deal with and the whole purchasing experience went smoothly. I drove 6 hours each way to get there and drive it home on the same day.

I will post better pics in the Wind Chill Pearl thread after I finish waxing it today.:D

I can’t remember exactly. Does anyone know how to search a specific thread for a specific word?
    ie, this thread for Arizona
I’ve actually been wondering this a while.
