    People come in the shop at work and ask what I’m making, I respond “about $2 an hour” :rofl:

    Cut that popple, all of it! Being a ruff grouse hunter I annual buy the historical Aspen cuts map for Mn. that highlight the ~12 year stands of Aspen\poplar where grouse habitat is best.

    [IMG]

    Pretty sure shot the last ruff grouse in Western NC and Western Va. 25 years ago. There most often than not shooting at them while laying on your back up through a rhododendron thicket sliding down the Appalachians. Further North rhododendron gives way to Mountain Laurel.

    But there are plenty of ruff here yet and I spend the month of October chasing them with the dogs.

    My house in Asheville, NC had electric heat. I grew up with coal in the 60's and early 70's in NC Pa. Wasn't until parents put in black oil heat that I knew that they made snow shovels, thought that was what the coal shovel was for!

    Hi Dan! :wave: Your going to need it soon it is headed your way. Blizzard warning over here is -2 right now with Windchill advisory of -25. Stay safe and warm. Exposed skin freezes in 30 minutes or less blah blah blah you know the routine. And Merry Christmas Eve to you and yours!

    Same here. With a fireplace and insert as backup. Last time counted I handled a piece of firewood something like 21 times from felling a dead tree to dumping the ashes. Don't have the patience for that like I used to. But do like the "dry" penetrating heat of wood especially as I get older.

    [IMG]

    Oh wait you said Florida...

    Sorry couldn't help myself! :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    +1 on the fireplace insert. This was here when we purchased the house. Has some type of catalyst in it, very efficient when stoked up. I printed some info off internet, like New York phone book I would guess lol. I just brush the stack out and its working fine. But somewhere read that catalyst requires a cleaning too:confused:20191221_152601.jpg
