Correct, removing it completely is certainly one way around it.

Yep we had some weird things happen with the back brakes during tuning.
If you see really weird things happening on the dyno, pull the ABS fuse. Then the back brakes do not work at all. (literally, they do not work even pushing the brake pedal to the floor).

Interesting default strategy. So clear now why Toyota sticks w rear drums. Everyone knows they make no difference haha.

not to direct from this thread but it's surprising the stuff toyota can get away with.
Blown fuse? Back brakes don't work.
Check engine light? Traction control doesn't work.
Brake lights have issues? Throttle doesn't work

Exactly why I replaced mine with the 4 piston Stoptech units.

That's my point though, Toyota deemed them so unnecessary, they don't even care if their function is lost if u have an electrical issue haha.

The throttle issue has came up many times even in stock trucks. If the tail lamp bulbs blow out or short circuit, it can literally put the truck into limp mode... it doesn’t matter where you are or how fast you are going. Kinda scary....

The schematic and strategy interests me here. I wonder what their thought was here.

Matt, you previously commented that these traction control nannies shouldn't happen on a roller-based dyno vs the hub-based used in your shop. The pic and vid in androofoo's posts clearly show his truck dyno'd on a roller unit. The ACIS issue has been ruled out, since its completely gone on the Magnuson install. Doesn't that more or less confirm that the dips seen on the curve are related to the tuner modulating the throttle to prevent transmission shifting mid pull as he stated?

I had the dip in my Dyno as well and I have a manual trans so that might rule out the mid range shift theory.

I blew a brake light fuse and the truck wouldn't even start!! It's like the permissive signal for the brakes being pressed to start the engine (with push to start) is routed thru the brake lights rather than the brake pedal itself...

Yes, I saw your dyno results. The dip was in the same 4200 rpm range as androofoo's, so what the in the literal hell could the problem be? Pulling the ABS fuse prior to a dyno run like Matt suggested?

Also - Like you, I also ordered the the AFE catted downpipes on September 9th, by mid October they emailed me saying they were backordered but I kept the order open. They finally arrived the day after Thanksgiving.

So if you have the Magnuson SC and are running their Tune have you contacted them to see what is up? Maybe push them to look at issues and solutions? Or is it just something that is "normal" for the Gen3? I'd hope if it was the vFTuner Tune that they could get some logs and assistance from the wizard of vfT @OVTune Mat and figure this out. Maybe it is time for those with the SC installed to start questioning Magnuson and their commitment to excellence. ?? @daltondrose , @Metallikatz3 , @OpelGT ??

That’s great! Please share your feedback with us! I just wasn’t willing to play the back order game. I hope the install goes well.
