    Hey TW,

Just installed a .5 top plate spacer (1" lift to front), and ICON progressive AAL (1.5" lift to rear) to my TRD Pro Suspension. I also installed the Total Chaos UCA's.

After I got the truck aligned I started to notice a faint cylindrical vibration at around 40-50 MPH.

Below is my before and after specs for the alignment. My question to the TW community is does the alignment look normal? My Caster is still in the red at 3.1 and 3.9. Why would this be? I have the TC UCA's so getting within specs shouldn't be an issue.

Also, could the vibration be a sign that my front differential needle bearing is going bad?

    Anyone with a similar experience?

    Thanks,
    Grant

    A: pic isn't working

B: If your alignment shop can't get it even close to spec, you need a new alignment shop.

C: sounds like a needle bearing. Time for the ECGS bushing

Put it in 4 wheel drive and if it goes away that’s it.

    What's a "cylindrical vibration"?

Where do you feel the vibration, steering wheel, feet or in the seat?

If it goes away in 4WD its the needle bearing, if its felt in the seat or behind you it's likely drive shaft angle.

Sounds like the u-joint doesn't like the new angle you put it into.

I feel it in the steering wheel and it feels more towards the front. I haven't tried to see if it goes away in 4H yet.

This was the best way i could describe it. It is a faint humm. It lasts for 1 second, stops for 1, and then repeats.

Just lifted mine and it's doing the same thing. I initially lifted 1" in the front with 6112s. I had it bumped to 2" and added Camburg UCAs. I now have that same vibration at the same speeds. My truck is a 2020 with only 10,000 miles on it. My Caster after the alignment and UCAs is in the red at 4.0 and 4.3. I didn't think going up one inch more would cause issues. I can't believe the needle bearing would be bad on mine already.

Mine is a 19 with 25K on it. This is definitely frustrating, especially with as mild of a lift I put on it.

Are the tires mounted in the same location as before the lift? Have they been swapped front to back while the lift was in progress?

To me the description you've given points at needle bearing. As stated try 4wd while it's occurring, see if there is any difference.
Also your caster is "in the red" because it's higher than what factory specs are. So their alignment systems sees it as wrong. Since you've changed the ride height/geometry, the factory specs are not applicable.

Yes, as far as I'm aware. I rotated the tires just before applying the lift. I doubt the alignment shop gave me a free rotation.

Thanks for the reply. So, post alignment specs look normal?

Just in case and it's free, swap tires front to back in case you have a tire balance issue, its the cheapest route to consider while looking into the others.

Look pretty good to me. I'd be happy with them as long as there was no rubbing. The caster is set higher on passenger side to "make up" for the crown in the roadway. The alignment tech apparently knew this. Most guys shoot for 0 degrees on the Toe, 0 degrees on the camber, and caster right around where yours is (3.0+), some go higher in caster. Those specs on your are fine.

Do 4x2 suffer from needle bearing issues too?
