So, a recap. OP has bad shit happen to his engine, we all call him fake news. Several others come on here saying they have the same problem. But never have we, the TW collective, seen these casualties before. Then we called the others fake new also. So now we have Kool Aid advise that the truck actually does have low end torque??? And a 2015 with a 3.5, we think.

    2020 needs to go away.

Late to the party and pages are numerous.. but I remember my second Gen had a valve spring recall for weak valve springs that could break. Was a pain in my ass dealing with Toyota but eventually got squared away.

    Hopefully this was a fluke.

No, was all 2013-2014 2.7s if I remember right. Was an issue with manufacturing of the valve springs, so not necessarily something Toyota has a history of fixing.

Not sure what your attempt at sarcasm was for, but maybe you’re drunk already. Merry Christmas.

i have a 14 2.7l, it has to do with your VIN#/ date of manufacture mine wasn't included in that one recall. when I ran it online and checked it out with Toyota corp.

Probably for the better. Shop foreman did the work on mine (incorrectly), took a couple months to establish a pattern of failure so I could figure out what the hell was the trigger to my limp mode. 3 near miss car accidents and I said fuck this, keep it until it’s fixed. Didn’t work, since the failure only happened at 70MPH if the RPM was over 3500, and they couldn’t duplicate the issue because the posted speed limit was 65 MPH.

    Great times.

when I first bought the truck used from a dealer I ran the VIN here https://www.toyota.com/recall im kind of happy it was addressed during the manufacture date of my truck cause it doesn't show up there or with Toyota service depts.
