No doubt. When I lived in WV I popped the hood and had a squirrel run up my arm and knocked my hat off when he launched. We both were lighter after the event. Good luck fighting that mess. Seems like once they find a home you play hell getting rid of them.

Sorry your pepper spray didn’t work- we used it on coyotes and such but I guess the chipmunks like spicy food. It won’t work on snakes, but can you try a couple of those electric ultrasonic blasters for rodents? What a hassle!

The habanero spray didn't but powdered cayenne put a stop to it immediately. No rodent activity in a month with the powder on there.

You should warn any mechanics working on your truck. They could get a nasty surprise after working on it and they scratch themselves or umm they touch their significant others.

My Tacoma's traction and engine light came because of mice or rats going under the hood. I bought a Toyota for its reliability and it turns out they use soy based products for wiring... A guy who works for Toyota told me they get lots of vehicles in there for the same problem. Also, the person I spoke with at ICBC (insurance company) to deal with the problem told me that they have lots of calls about newer Toyotas with rodent problems.
Toyota has gone to shit in my opinion because of this major mistake and they should be covering the costs of the deductible I and others have had to pay to insurance companies. I'm f#@king pissed!

Yeah, it sucks. Gonna have to put lots of deterrents by the truck but it is going to be very annoying to deal with. Hopefully there will be a class action law suit in BC.

What about trying Krown oil? When I had my truck in for the Krown service, they sprayed the engine bay and wires as well. You can purchase small cans to spray just the wires looms...just a thought.

I purchased and installed a MouseBlocker pro device about a month and half ago. I bought it from Amazon. It seems to be working very well so far. I did my research before buying it and others who have installed it have said it is a good device for deterring rodents.

Please god do not do this, this is terrible especially in a more densely populated area. We have had pets die locally from them snagging a mouse after a mouse ate this. Sure, the mouse dies, and so does your dog/cat.

Effin mice...tore off the top layer of the insulation on the fire wall for warmth from the looks of it. Anyone else experience this? Not a huge deal but any suggestions if I were to repair or replace it at some point?

That's where chipmunks started with my Taco. Sprinkling cayenne in the engine bay put that to a stop.

I've had chipmunk and mice issues here like you wouldn't believe, I just set a lot of traps. I use have-a-heart to relocate the chipmunks, and the good victor mouse traps to rid the little bastards. Trapped over 50 chipmunks this summer/fall and terminated at least 3 times as many mice. As of late only a 2-3 mice a week, so were gaining on them.

I live in the city and started seeing evidence of rats or maybe just one rat in a car I keep covered next to my house. My yard is clean but my neighbors is not. For me I hired a local pest control company. Three bait traps, $40 a month and I've not a had a problem since.

All our yards are pretty clean, but were out some, even from the suburbs. Lots of hickory, and oak trees with nuts and acorns not to mention we have this bird lady nearby that has at least 30 feeders around her property. I think it attracts every squirrel, chipmunk, bear and deer around, not to mention mice. I couldn't even grow my garden this past summer without those little bastards digging everything up, and eating the plants.

Did you happen to replace or repair the insulation they tore off on the firewall by any chance?
