Be it that kind or the attire, never underestimate the power of the Halloween costume.

I was raised strict Catholic and the things I saw...yikes. I'll share more on PM so I don't clog the thread if you wish

This thread proves the Toyota 3.5L motor is inferior to 4.0, 3.4, 4.7, 5.7, 2.7. Basically every Toyota engine is better than the 3.5.

When my truck was stolen no one I spoke to could understand why I wanted it back so bad. Its because 2.7L is a beautiful/strong engine.

I grew up in the age of the 22r. When the 22rT came out we thought we had arrived....135hp!

Then the big block 3.0 came along. Holy shit! 6 cylinders and 150hp! Didn't take us long to realize it was a dog and no more powerful than the 22r in the real world!

And she did have an appetite for the ol' head gaskets. As far as Toyota engines go.....it was a dreadful hunk of shit. Others will disagree.

I've owned one since '95 and I agree, easily one of Toyota's worst engines. Mine's been through two sets of headgaskets and one set of heads in 160K Miles. Then I made the mistake of having it rebuilt which caused new and different problems (to be fair the new issues are more related to the shop which did the rebuilding then the engine it's self). I'm seriously considering swapping-in a more modern Toyota engine. If it wern't for the Smog laws in my state I likely would have already done that.

My first Toyota was a 1972 Corolla. It had a blown engine at 250K miles. That's why I got it for free. Went out back to the salvage yard and pulled another engine out, popped it in, and got a few more years out of that baby.

I think it was a 20R, but I'm not sure. Even back then about 1978 or so, they had a reputation for building great engines. Not so much the bodies.

The 20R was in the Celica in the late 70's. A '72 Corolla would have a 3K-C or 2T-C.
