Is anyone else experiencing a lower playback volume when playing music on the phone via Bluetooth or CarPlay? Yes the volume on my phone is all the way up. I play music on the radio or SXM at about 30 volume. For it to be about the same with my phone music I typically have to play it at about 50 volume. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or has a fix. Thanks!

My 2015 was that way so is my 2019. Audio from a wireless device is lower and needs more volume to match what your ears were expecting compared to anything coming from the stereo

I have the same issue in my 2015. Not sure if there's anything that can be done about it.

In some of my past home stereos and TVs patched through same, I had similar issues. Sometimes there is a output or input "loudness" adjustment to compensate.

On my current TV output to my stereo - I found - a "Midnight mode" to boost the input so when I switch between Radio and TV the Volume is similar. I'd check BOTH the Radio and Phone docs to see if this can be adjusted .... JMO.

If you have a 2020 or newer and you have the alexa for Toyota app installed on your phone, try uninstalling it and seeing if that resolves the issue.

It could also be a phone issue. Mine is fine after making sure the phone volume is all the way up. I don't have Android Auto or Apple Car Play, though, so I'm just doing Bluetooth.

Same issue. I read at some point it’s a setting in the phone but I can’t remember what or where to find it.

Had the same issue on both my 2nd and 3rd gens but my wife's 4runner doesn't have the same problems. Seems like sometimes it works perfectly and the rest of the time its just crap I've asked several Toyota mechanics about it but none has ever heard about it happening.

turn the volume up on your phone using those two buttons on the side and the volume knob on the truck. Both of those can change the volume and I've noticed having the phone volume up increases bass too for some reason

If you connect with a usb cable it is louder. Try this. Connect with Bluetooth and don’t change volume. Then connect with cable and see the difference.

I figured it out. For Apple go to setting -> music -> sound check to OFF (on your iPhone)
