    This :rofl:the joyride or immediately returning to stealership...both could work:rofl:but to answer, my thought would be damage done while fuel pump being worked on rather than a joy ride.

    I recently purchased a car for my son that takes the same housing wrench as my 3rd gen. I have tool similar to that one but on his car the clearance for ratchet location etc, I purchased a short socket for that filter wrench. After seeing that picture I'll most likely use the socket on that hex for all future oil changes.

    I used to work at Toyota of RSM, and would recommend it to anyone in the south OC area.

    I believe the service manager has changed hands since I was there, but most all the techs are the same and they’re all good dudes. 3.5 years there, never saw or did any joy rides or hooning with a service car.
    And if something did happen, they have a full body shop in house.

    The used cars for sale however, get used as shuttles, parts runs, and general headassery. I wouldn’t buy one.

    @Tacoma Mike

    People love piling on dealerships and service departments.....and degrading techs as if they aren't human. We know better. Lots of good people in the business. I'm confident you're one of them. :thumbsup:

    Not saying all techs are bad. I understand the oil changes aren’t huge money makers for dealerships but the techs should treat those jobs as any other jobs

    I was a service lot porter for a Ford dealership 20 years ago, this was exactly my experience. Service cars were treated well, but yeah we took used cars off the sales lot for runs, customer shuttles, or because it looked like a fun car to drive.

    Like any other business they hired a certain percentage of crappy employees and they didn’t last long, but the regular service techs and master technicians were super experienced, knowledgeable, and respectful. This dealership, at the time, was so busy the service department ran from 7am - Midnight. Super fun job for someone remotely interested in cars and fresh out of high school.

    Over the years I've ran into many great techs and even more asshole service writers and service managers, rarely finding at least good ones.

    Best part about this is that I saw it coming due to my previous experience with my prior 16. I had them install a new Oem aluminum Housing on the last oil change so it wouldn’t be a problem when I went to do it myself after the provided Toyota care ones were completed, guess you’re I can’t win them all. Damned if you do damned if you don’t

    Who "joyrides" a pickup truck? If I'm going to get stabby in somebody's car it'll be something fast like a Porsche or Mustang.

    Its my job to stress the car in certain ways to recreate problems, listen for noises and make sure it will perform when the customer wants to floor it.

    I know more about the safe operating limits of these cars than most owners, you should see how they fuck stuff up and then try to deny responsibility.

    If I get the feeling that a customer doesn't trust me, I don't even want their business. I'll hand them their keys back and move on to other jobs, I don't have time to play games with dash cams and nervous Nancy's
