I’m also having an issue with that side sagging down and not closing up all the way. Is this a defect? Seems like others are having similar issues. What can be done for this? Literally a brand new RTT, just receive a few days ago.

Try folding it up a different way.
Try to push the loose end in as opposed to clumping it on the edge.

oh and take everything out before closing. You have to do the flip. Then you can put some stuff in there before it’s closed and latched.

It arrived unopened looking that. Will making these adjustments fix the issue? I haven't even opened it yet.

I’d say open it up. And close it yourself. Could be a bad pack from the factory.

    No problem.
The DA folks are aware of the closing issue as well. They will open a new tent this next week and see if they can replicate issue.

I think it has to do with the shape of the hardshell. The closing issue is occurring on the side where the hard shell is lower profile. So perhaps there isn't enough clearance to close flush on that side? I'm starting to see a lot more wear on the cable since there's more pressure on it compared to the other side where it closes flush.

That makes sense. Seems like a quality and design flaw issue.

It's not a huge issue for me, still closes fine and dirt/water doesn't get it. Just passing off my observations.

Sleeping bag and pillow are able to be left inside correct? Also was this discussed at all from where this was made? China?

Sleeping bag and pillow can be stored in the tent after you flip it closed (before you close the lid)

Yes. China for now. Going to be made in Phoenix, starting later this year.

Here's my solution to the not closing all the way.

I cut the pin holding the original latch so I could take that out and then cut the pin on a rachet strap lever, freeing the strap from the body. Drilled out the pin holes on the latch mount on the lid slightly bigger and then mounted the ratchet strap to the lid with a new bolt and nylock nut.

Then I took the cut off strap (this also had a hook on it) and cut the hook off to make a makeshift D ring.

With that left over strap, I put that into the ratchet lever and it gives about 8-10 inches of play. So now, I can close the lid, put the makeshift D ring onto the existing hook on the bottom, snug it up and then ratchet it closed.

Also drilled a hole in the ratchet lever so I can route a lock in there if I want. And this also addresses the lid not closing all the way on the latch side.

I have been thinking of getting a Roofnest Falcon, then stumbled on this page. I can't find any videos or reviews of the Ninja XL, anyone have one that can comment on build quality or issues? I'm wondering if it includes the same accessories as the roofnest version; like the shoe bags, the interior bag/pockets for cell phones, the netting on the roof. I also can't tell exactly what the material is that the tent is made from and if it is removable for repair replacement like the roofnest model is. Anyone have any ideas, or know if there are any promotions coming up? Lastly, what size crossbar are these tents designed for? My camper shell that it will mount on has 1250mm cross bars, seems fairly standard but I can't find if this would work for the DA Ninja.

    Thanks in advance.

It’s a lot like the roofnest.
Comes with shoe bag and accessory bag for the outside track.
No netting on the top yet though.
Has a side pouch on either side of the tent when open to hold your pocket items.
The material is the same ripstop material that’s in all RTT’s.
Right now they are doing a sale, I’ll have to post a picture here.
The cross bars are the standard bars that come on all tents. So you shouldn’t have any issues.
