I just thought I'd share, this is my new Kimber Custom II .45. I've replaced the MSH with a "stainless chain-link" style, the grips with cocobolo full sized, and a stainless magwell. Lastly, a set of Trijicon night sights (the stock black ones sucked), custom VZ grip screws and front strap. Post up your pics of your 1911s.

I bought the gun off of Gunbroker.com (through my cousins pawn shop) for $653.00 shipped. The sights were $99.00 with $35.00 extra installed by my gunsmith, grips were $39.00, magwell/MSH was $56.00, VZ custom grip screws were $19.00 and the front strap was $7.00 for three. I installed everything but the sights, so I guess the grand total was $813.00.

I looked hard at some Springfield stuff, mainly a A1 Loaded, could not find one in stock, and it seems a lot of the newer stuff from Springfield is made in Brazil, a big turn off for me.

Thanks, I'm liking it too. I have had it for a month or so, I have 300 rds through it. I just got it back from the smithy for the sights install. I have a few other pistols, H&K, Sig, Walther and a couple or Rugers. Hell, I even have a KelTec .380 that goes everywhere with me. I know it's not the ideal weapon of choice but, I'll take it over any knife that I know of...

Magwells are nice to have. Interesting on the frontstrap.. if it's skateboard tape why didn't they finish it under the grip panels?

Very nice. I am also curious as to the price.
And I think the only thing made in or from brazil on the operator is the cocobolo grips. It also has the trijicon tritium nitesights which I understand is the only company in the world who has a patent/permission to use nuclear waste for use as nite sights.

It's a rubberized skate tape, and the shape and size was what was sent to me, I installed it.
