Me asking at work "hey where can I get good bbq" blanks stares.... JDs is ok, but their sides are the best part, other than that no where really.
I do like that this is the region of the country with vinegar and mustard based bbq sauce, not that sweet ketchup evreywhere else uses!

Haven't tried cheerwine yet.

PDQ is the shit! Easily 100xs better than that chik-fil-a garbage!

 

So coastal NC BBQ is the vinegar, South Carolina is the mustard crap, Lexington NC is the tomato stuff. I like either of the NC varieties, the mustard stuff is no bueno.

 

Really? I make an awesome mustard based sauce, love it!

I bought some military spec battery cables and need to crimp the copper lugs.

Look identical to the old red handled pair I use(d)
I used molten silver solder filled lugs and crimped them. Was not a lot of solder pressed out indicating voids were filled.
Marine grade wires are tinned which is most of my applications.

 

I have a pair of the ones on the left, works pretty good.

I’ve always used this hammer crimp tool. Works great and saves room.

 

I borrowed one of those and it's one of the most useless tools I have her used. Those handheld crimpers are WAAAY better.

 

Probably. Lol. I’ve used it a few times to make a new ground cable for my Miller, and a firewall ground for the Tacoma. That’s really it, worked fine for me.

You gotta thwack it with a pretty beefy hammer, framing one won’t work. I used a big sledge.

I heated with MAP torch, lugs hole up in vice and inserted wire in molten solder, crinping with tool immediately.
That YouTuber would get fired and run outta the boatyard.
