Can you describe what you mean here? Unfamiliar with what GST and SET are and how this all works

If you're not buying from Texas, it won't affect you. California gets cars from Toyota dealers. Dealers in Texas use GST which is a distributor for Toyota. so they get packages, options, and new msrp that most of the other states never see.

If your a Costco member go through them. I saved about $5K on a TRD Offroad and it was ordered with the color and packages I wanted. Granted the dealership was about 1 1/2 hours from my house. But I was very happy I was able to save money and get exactly what I wanted. I did have to wait about 8 weeks but well worth it.

I tried this, but they still quoted MSRP. I’m thinking that I would need to use the Costco program in another area? Idk if that’s possible.

You should be able to go to a dealer, talk to their fleet manager and have the exact truck you want added to their allocation. You may have to wait a couple months, but you'll pay MSRP.
    Unless the dealer is shady.

Just ordered mine about a week ago. 2021 TRD-OR DCSB, magnetic grey, manual trans, tech package. $37,500 + TTL

Well that sucks, bad time to buy a new Tacoma I guess. Good luck with your search. Keep it up and you'll find what you want eventually, even if its out of state.

I suggest using auto tempest, buy out of state. Auto tempest organizes all of the other auto search sites on one page. so you can see eBay, AutoTrader, cars.com, everything in one place. That's what I did and then bought one from two states away

    Somewhere hot, flat and brown.
Not if you look hard enough. I just bought a ‘21 OR DCSB in Houston for 10% off without even asking for it. No dealer adds, no BS, no haggle. Not cement, but I have hard time believing there’s a real premium for a color. I couldn’t fathom ever needing to pay MSRP on a new vehicle - let alone a model that sells 200K+ per year volume.

Search in a different area (cars.com or autotempest.com) and fire off emails to dealers.
