It would be from the factory. It doesn't really worsen over time, it's the result of a bad base spray with metallic colors.

We had a solid frost the other morning, I dig the frosted look on these MGM trucks.

Yes, they always fill up the tank. That 6 gallons of gas always shows up on Toyota order forms. Weird!

@IzzysTaco - did you buy the TRD Pro wheels from Toyota through a dealer? My dealer said they weren't even allowed to order the wheels unless it was for a Pro vin - but that was still when we were negotiating on my Off Road, so maybe they were hoping that would convince me to upgrade to a Pro. Sorry if this is a total newb question, I am, in fact, a newb... just trying to gain as much knowledge as possible to avoid getting hosed forever at the garage.

All you have to do is get a vin number from a TRD Pro 4Runner and you can order them. Those are the 17” 4Runner Pro wheels, not the 16” Tacoma TRD Pro wheels just in case you didn’t know.

Hell, my dealer has them on the floor as an option to buy, they don't give a shit about the old 4runner wheels or the old taco pro wheels anymore. The new ones and the 2020 tacoma pro wheels they ask for a vin though. BAM doesn't though, I don't think they care if you order any of the pro wheels. I got the 20 taco pro wheels from them.

Thanks @Stefan_Ray, I didn't know the Tacoma TRD Pro was also 16" so I appreciate the clarification. I was interested in 17" since I was told I'd have more tire options at that size - but I'm not sure what else changing sizes would impact so haven't decided. I would like to avoid negating my warranty, but also am super eager to make her my own (probably too eager... but here we are)! Black rims and better tires (vs the OR stock) are high on the list, but don't want to drop the $ until I can settle on a size.

It won’t affect anything. People who have the 16” wheels put on 265/75/R16 or 285/75/R16 tires. With the 17” wheels they run 265/70R17 or 285/70R17 tires. So if you put a 16” wheel with a 265/75R16 wheel and tire next to 17” wheel with a 265/70R17 tire, they would be virtually the same size. Same for the 285 sizing.
