Just installed the SumoSprings and I’m happy with the results. Hit some whoops and I actually like the stiffer feel. Body roll seemed tighter as well and everything seems much more planted. Biggest change was while winding out first gear then grabbing second and chirping the tires. The truck used to buck a couple times now it chirps and just hooks. Excited to feel the difference next time I tow.

There were horns I seen way back that were great but I can’t recall exactly- something possibly with cop horns and required a box in the cab? I wanted to upgrade to those eventually but I also was almost run off the road and stock horns are crap regardless 1 or 2. Maybe fine to beep in another car to merge or beep the old lady to cross the street but not to put your foot down and say hey buddy im right here- look in your mirrors or better yet over your shoulder!

Which version is this set? If I remember right there were 2nd gen versions that was used for 3rd gen initially but then they made a slight change for 3rd gen specifically. Any other aftermarket suspension changes you’ve done or extra weight you carry on a daily.

I installed mine the other day and had the same issue with only one of mine. Had to use a tiny screw driver to lightly pry up the prongs in order for it to connect properly and lock in place. Works great except for hyper flash when in reverse and having a turn signal on. Got my complimentary resistors today. Hope to install tomorrow.

How much lift did you add? I've also heard adding shims to the rear can help with that issue. I plan to lift mine 2" and have both the diff drop and shims.

Mine gets pissed off when there isn't an open parking place at the front door of wherever we're going.

Same thing happened to me. I actually ended up trying to force the connection and bend one of the prongs because it wasn’t lining up. I had to take a small nail and bend the prongs up to where they would better for the OEM connection. Just try and find where it isn’t lining up.

This is the blue ssr-612-40 medium duty version, the black -47 is the heavier duty version. If I remember right the older versions were taller could be used on the tundras and Tacoma’s. The old taller version rested on the frame on Tacoma’s which lifted the rear slightly and, from what I’ve read, caused a more harsh ride. Im stock and don’t carry any extra weight daily aside from the oem tonneau cover. There is maybe 1/8” space between the top and the frame on the passenger side but looks like the drivers side is just barely resting on it (taco lean). Unless I towed near the limit of the truck frequently I think the blue springs are going to be perfect for me as I only tow moderate loads a few times a year. Can definitely tell they’re there on bumps but it’s not uncomfortable by any means. Even if I was lifted a few inches I could see the value in these and think the blue version would fit most needs.

Added a front license plate holder that I bought on this forum from https://www.tacomaworld.com/members/keaton1717.214533/. Thank you Keaton1717. He is a stand up guy and shipped it out quick - in new condition. Sorry - no pics, y’all know what they look like. It was a big improvement over the crooked way the crooked dealership had it screwed on.
