    TForce, otherwise stock.
New for my son before he heads off to PT school. 2018 SR TSS Offroad, blackout badge, steps, rims, and exhaust tip package, LED bed lights, all weather floor mats, and tonneau cover. Certified Used with 25K miles. I went with the Toyota Extra Care 7 year 100K mile bumper to bumper with roadside and 0 deductible. I'm probably going to add driving/fog lights with the dash button to make it look factory. The Nitto Terra Grapplers are 265/65/16, and appear to be original.

if you buy the correct light stalk with the fog function it will look factory. Its not hard to remove the airbag / steering wheel.

all you need is Relay, Lights, bezels, Harness and Fog Light stalk

Has anyone had issues off roading with 3rd gen SR stock suspension? Wondering if I should replace before attacking other cosmetic items

i would imagine there is alot of room for improvement with better suspensions but i cant imagine thats holding SR's back any more off road than not having lockers

I guess it depends on what your doing, loads you'll be carrying and where your going. I put on 265s and had my truck on some light and slow off pavement trips with no issues. If you plan on loading up with 200+ lbs of gear and doing anything hardcore, then a full on suspension upgrade is probably in order. The SR is my daily driver with the capability of doing anything I'm planning on. I've logged about 50-100 miles of light off road terrain in the mountains in PA and didn't have any worries -- but like I said -- it's my DD, so I wasn't looking to get hardcore, just wanted to get to a destination off the beaten path. I guess it really just depends on what your doing . For me the bone stock SR suspension with 4x4 and AT tires meets both my on and offroad needs, it may not for you. I'd suggest giving it a try before diving into any big decisions.

Thank you for the lengthy reply! I am in the same boat - very light off-road with some 265x70x17, but slowly off roading more and more. It has conquered everything I have attempted but I have a Leer shell on the back and frequently load it with 200lb’s or more on camping trips (considering a roof top tent as well). I have yet to air down (due to no air compressor) but notice a rough ride as it is currently, when loaded up, when off road. On road she purrs just the same as when I drove off the lot. Just wondering if I should upgrade since I am adding more and more weight to the back as time goes on!

I switched over from the stock SR suspension to Kings w/ Dakar medium duty packs. Night and day difference on and off road. Of course it is not absolutely necessary but it makes hitting trails a hell of lot better. The Dakars also set you up to ride a little better with some weight in the back.

Given you are happy with the on road performance currently, I would go with air bags or a similar adjustable solution to maintain that.

I guess the shell puts some additional weight back there. I've read about folks saying that the stock suspension sucks, but my truck is basically new and it seems ok to me, but I'm on the pavement 99% of the time. I've had a few tacomas with different leaf packs, shocks, Etc. My personal experience was that my daily ride suffered from these "upgrades". I never went the ghetto route either, it just seemed that the ride was harsher and didn't really gain me anything for what I was doing. I did read up about sumo and timbren springs, and they both seem like descent options for keeping the stock ride and adding the ability to handle some load.

My SR shocks were terrible. Very highly recommended a bilstein 5100 kit w/ ome coils. A lot of trd off-road bilstein shocks are also all over Craigslist if you want the cheap route.

those who installed fog lights... was it hard? my SE didn’t come with them (as most do I think...) and I got a set of diode dynamics amber fogs and fog light bezels.
I have zero knowledge in wiring/installing, but I can follow instructions well :anonymous:
