It's genetics over training at this point, I don't think it's gonna change. My lower half has always been very strong but disproportionate size wise to my traps and shoulders. Oh well.

    NoBull high tops.

Hate on them.... but they are great for deadlifts and moving events.

Just over 7 miles this AM. At least it was in the high 30s instead of the teens.

Going to try to hit 40 miles this week.

Slow goin this morning. Crawled out of bed to the alarm at 5:30 (I’m normally a no alarm guy wide awake at 4:45a). Took longer than usual to drink my coffee and hit the treadmill for 5 miles.
I think my body is rebelling because it knows my diet starts today and I’m going sober till Friday (lie detector test will determine that is a lie).

So last week of 2020. What is everyones 2021 fitness goals?

    Mine:
    Lose 10lbs by Jan 31st
    Run 2,000-2,500 miles in 2021
Complete at least two ultras. A redemption 50k and a 50M.
    Summit a 14er
    DL 375
    Squat 225
    Bench 285

I'm sitting at my computer ingesting coffee, banana, and almond butter (my usual brekky) and getting ready to go to the mountains for a day of hiking. Alarm at 5 pretty much everyday. Tough sell this morning for me too.

Glacier Peak is on my list
Get another Century Ride in (preferably on the N. Cascades Hwy)
50k in the mountains (fast hike)
Back in the pool then OWS (lots)
250k elevation gain on the year. I broke 200 for the first time this year
    Controlled handstand

Quick list shooting from the hip. Have a great day everyone and Go Get It!!!!!!

I'm eating 3 strips of bacon and 3 eggs. #fatminimumsmatter

250k in elevation gain in a year is pretty hard core. Saw a 2021 challenge of 365,000ft of gain within the year.
This year I've maybe gotten 50,000ft if I had to guess (my Coros I don't think will spit that number out for total in the year). To get 200k plus I'd have to get me the Nordic Track TM with a 40% incline (and I don't think my 8ft cielings will allos for it HAHA)

I think because you mentioned that I'm going to add that to my spreadsheet and actually track it this year and see where I get.

Do it!! And bust through that ceiling! BTW mountains were incredible today. Bluebird without a cloud in the sky. One of my bigger days this year. Glad I dragged my ass out the door. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good! I'm jealous. I've been doing most of my runs in the morning on my TM since it's so dark and cold in the morning. Knowing me I'd slip on some ice and break something if I tried to go outside with my headlamp. Runs have not been the most entertaining lately but I get them done.

My poor TM is also starting to make funny noises, think it's time to start my sinking fund for a Nordic Track lol

There's probably a tutorial on here to fix that TM.

Shhhh I want a new one ok?
If my husband thinks it's broken and irreparable I can get permission to get a new one.

My screen is busted on this one and Proform doesn't make replacements. I have to time my runs on my watch and guess MPH to know how far I've gone. As soon as it dies it's out.

Paid $160 for it and more than got my money's worth.

I can see it now though, this breaks and I want to get a high end commercial one, and then I'll get the "but if we get cheaper TMs we can get two and run side by side" :|

I got my set of Jaybirds. A couple other fitness brands were just too expensive. The only way I'm spending $200 on a set of headphones is if they come with sexual favors or a promise that they will magically make me faster.

This is my first set of Bluetooth headphones. It's so odd they aren't attached to my phone lol. You don't know how many times that cord has prevented me from dropping my phone. So far they seem fine.
I was able to get a pair of Terah's super cheap and with a gift card only paid $5. Hopefully they hold up better to the elements than my old iPhone headphones.

Trying to piece together a gym right now is insane . I can piece together a rack, bar, and bench but struggling to find plates in stock.

I wonder how big of a hit gyms are going to take with so many people setting up home gyms. I keep looking at reviews and there will be a photo of someone stuffing a huge power rack into a tiny space in their house .

You guys living in/near big cities are going to have a surplus of workout equipment to pick up cheap in a year or so.

Idk, is this rona ever going to end?

I’m keeping my fingers crossed I don’t need a treadmill before this stuff is over so I can get a sweet deal on a used one.

I wonder how many people will sell their stuff because I think only the more dedicated folks would put the coin into a home set up.

    Will be interesting to see.

I will be selling what I bought when this is over. I like the gym. Maybe more folks like me than I think

I am guessing more people are like you than you think. Most people I know really like the separation between home and the gym. There is probably something ritualistic about prepping and driving to a gym for the majority of people.

I don’t have much choice. It’s either drive 30 minutes one way (not in the direction of my office either) to pay for an overpriced gym with crap equipment or build one.

I finally found some plates. It won’t be much weight but it will get us by for the time being. I’ll probably order everything in the next few days.

I have been chopping wood for a workout the past 6 months. As much as I like it, I tend to drink a little too much beer/whiskey during my workouts . I’ll be glad to be able to deadlift, squat and press again.
