Before I tuned my truck and upgraded some hardware (CAI and exhaust) I thought "COMA" was a more appropriate nickname for these trucks than "TACO"

I have used it for almost a year, yes it takes about 1 minute to start up, but other than that, it has worked as advertised.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Now that you mention it, that whine is gone. Listened for it on the way home this morning.

The disconnect issue is usually a firmware update issue. When the unit first boots, go into the settings tab and update the firware in the unit. That will typically solve the conductivity issues. If not, try the compatibility mode in the settings tab.

Awesome looking truck ! Where did you get the mountain decal from? I think it would look pretty good in white on my black taco...

20201227_082150.jpg 20201227_082307.jpg New head unit, lol.
I covered my stock SR unit with my tablet. It has its own 4g connection. I rarely listen to the radio, and if I do I can use an app. I mostly stream and use the nav. Also when my Bluetooth obdii connector gets here I can use the Torque Pro app to monitor guages.
Pretty ghetto I know but it's an SR, gimme a break!

One downside is can't use the backup camera, but not a deal breaker for me. I'm old enough to remember when those were science fiction.
Update: found some Command brand picture hanging strips in black. So tablet is easily removed and can be put back on whenever I need the backup camera (hitch view when hooking up the boat).

I like it. Looks super clean. Are those black out vinyl decals on your vents?

Nope, it's an SR I had very little to do as far as deleting chrome. I vinyl wrapped the cup holder trim ring and dipped the 4wd selector ring.

Yea, always wondered why people buy all these fancy trim packages and then spend more money to unfancy them.
