Post WWII vehicle when the USA was overseeing and rebuilding Japan. Their industry had effectively been wiped out.

    Like, so many.
I’ve said this before, but I definitely agree. Especially on the OR and Pro. When they test trucks on YT, it’s always the tires that hold them back.

They put on all season terrain tires to meet MPG requirements or targets. You won't see aggressive tires from the factory. Maybe another manufacturer does as an option. Not sure. The Cybetruck and RIVIAN can offer more agressive tires since they have no petrol MPG requirements to meet.

Well people buy cheap tires. MilStar Patagonia's are popular not because they are good but super cheap. Unless youre spending $350+/per in tires everything is pretty average

Toyota is about the only manufacturer that puts street oriented tires on their dedicated off road trims. The ZR2 comes with Goodyear Duratrac tires. The Raptor comes with K02's. I believe the Wrangler/Gladiator Rubicon also comes with BFG All terrains (33"). The RAM TRX comes with Goodyear All Terrain 35" tires.

Those are all literally just all-terrain tires, ironically enough all of those vehicles have pretty much the same capability offroad

Yes, with much more of an off road orientation than the street oriented Goodyear Wranglers.

My opinion remains that the TRD Pro and TRD Off Road should not have the same tires.

Agree to disagree, those tires arent any better or worse. I ran the goodyears on dedicated offroad trails without issue. Besides the Pro and Offroad are pretty much the same, most of your money is going toward plastic asthetics.

EDIT: In fact I wheeled with a ZR2 on Duratracs and he had to take the bypasses at China Wall. He sold it a year later for a JL Rubicon. :)

    A little dose of reality.

MORE people drive on-road than OFF-road.

Why cater to a small market when the $$ are in the mass market?

I guess the cybertruck will have custom tires.

At closer look, the sidewall is weird so maybe custom for the the big reveal? The tread is an MTR but the sidewall matches the rim design.

Yeh this is definitely made for the reveal or to prevent slippage of the bead on the rim.

    So. Many. Stickers.
You guys know that when you pick your trucks up you can swap out whatever tires you want right? Most dealerships will even do the swap before you pick your truck up, and you'll save money doing that as opposed to buying tires outright somewhere else. It's been stated multiple times and yet people sitting here complaining about tire choices. Lol

I might have done this if I had known how bad the Dunlops were going to be. Not for off-road capability, but because they absolutely sucked in snow. I nearly spun out on the freeway about 3 weeks in, and put tires on that same week with 1300 miles on the truck.

Because people are paying for a certain look/capability. If you are going to market something as off road, then don't half ass it, especially when the competition isn't. If you don't need something with said capability or don't want the look, get something else. Simple.
