It just depends what they want to gear it toward. But something a little more aggressive than their 2nd tier off road trim would be a start.

And yet the raptor and zr2 and potentially the raptor ranger won't have nearly the sales that a trd pro will have. The pro is definitely not in the same class as the raptor that is competing against the other hot rod trucks which kinda died. The zr2 it's closest competitor is still not going to be even close to sales as the Pro even just comparing % of zr2s to the colorado sales. The pro will have a higher percentage of sales. Also the pro since it's inception in 2015 has been more of a combo of the OR and sport more than creating a much more capable offroad vehicle. Toyota knows their market really well that's why they have the #1 mid sized truck and even with the gladiator now they'll still out sell all day.

In other words they should keep doing what they are doing because the Pro is really just a daily driver with a bunch of aesthetic changes that they can make large profits on due to markup and marketing.

I do agree with you there. But the fact is that the Tacoma has long been the segment leader. People aren't generally making their decisions solely on tire choice. But in Toyota's case, the differences between their top off road trim and their 2nd are largely just cosmetic.

Doesn't seem like they will change their choice based on what we all say here. We can all dream though can't we.

And, not really that powerful compared to most modern sports cars, either. :D And, it's a BMW! o_O

I've seen the stock duratracs on the ZR2s go down a lot too. My E load ranges didn't have that issue. But you go on the ZR2 forum and even here and other offroad forums the Duratracs have that same reaction as to easy sidewall punctures.

I aired my E rated Duras to 18 PSi on the trail. Never had an issue.

I hate to say this but money does talk. And right now, Toyota is killing it. This is worth reading. Toyota has a huge success on their hands (the same way that Ford has one with the F150). They will continue to move very slowly and very deliberately with their cash cow. This article is worth a read, for sure. It points out that their sales go up when new entrants join the market:

If you're going to rotary swap it, might as well do a 20B. Although, I'd rather see an 18RG or 152-E in it personally.

See I think this is kind of the point, no issues for you but so many others that do. I ran my wranglers to 15 psi and had no issue but so many others have. We have to look at the big picture.

Nope they know the market well and are perfecting the niche of targeting that market to a pinpoint. Meanwhile ever other car manufacturer is adding more and more to their package options and vehicle line up while still suffering from market share loss. There is a reason why yota and honda are so damn successful.

Mine I would air down a lot lower than that but I'm pretty dare devilish with airing tires down I'll go down to 8 no bead locks. 10/12 is my usual during the summer and 12/15 in the winter.

I've got a buddy with a coupe that has a 20b in it. That car makes some money at the local tracks. I don't know the other 2 engines????
