Eeeeh, I'm new to tacomaworld and tacomas all together. Picked up a 2018 TRD offroad a few months ago and now.. well.. feelings the woos of this lovely shift point transmission shit show. Thinking a lot about going for an OVtune and re-gearing. There doesn't seem to be much of an overlanding community here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Anyone know where I could start as far as reputable places for re-gearing?

Welcome to TW, what part of NS are you from? I went to school at Dalhousie in the 1980's, and worked for the Dept of Mines and Energy out there in the summer doing geological surveys. Loved it there, great people, and wonderful countryside!

Why don’t you try ovtune/vftune. I had mine done to vftune 2.0 and my 2017 off-road shifts like it should. No more erratic shifting . I have 265/75/16 duratrac tires on stock wheels. I dont feel I even need to re-gear anymore. 6th gear can pull/ accelerate on slight incline. I’m sure there’s someone in your area that can do this for a small fee

Interbeing, I'm in the Halifax area.

Bulalo, a tune is what I've got in mind as my first plan. Did you order the stuff and do the tune yourself?

Ps. Not sure how to post a reply to a specific comment yet. Probably doesn't help I'm doing this on a phone.
