Picked these up last week. Killer deal! Shouts to @JLee for the shop tour. My bud is going to help me get them welded on next week. Also wondering if anyone here can recommend a good mechanic/shop in the east bay/Oakland to do a once over on the new RC I've recently picked up. I've got the basics covered when it comes to most mechanics but would prefer an experts eyes before I start going on longer trips.

Looks like the roads significantly packed down, is that mostly snow machine traffic?

You guys actually got a little snow. It's still super thin here all the way up to 12000'. Winter wheeling is summer wheeling at this point. lol

May still be too early to tell. Can’t remember but I think it was two winters back where it was dry as balls most of the winter and then in January/February we got hit hard with rain/snow for a few weeks straight.

Looks like a nice fab shop, I'm more looking for a general mechanic/shop especially in terms of pricing/honesty, someone I could recommend my neighbor to, who might tell them that A3 isn't worth fixing ... Do you think a specialty shop in my case is needed? I'm not looking to get the sliders installed or suspension work done, more 75,000 general maintenance and a thorough run through.

I live 7 minutes from the Buttermilks and 4 minutes from the Whites. Both trails go up to or over 10000'. I don't go looking for shit. I let it come to me. So far this year it hasn't. lol

I’m headed to Benton for New Years. Will probably end up in bishop one of the days to visit a buddy that moved there last year.

Plenty of local wheeling. If you want any info just ask.

You going to the springs in Benton?

Yeah got a a room at the bed and breakfast. It’s our third year doing it on New Years. But yeah I’m open to something easier to wheel around the area. I’ll be in my gfs Tacoma, less setup to do trails

Wonder if we passed each other at some point. I drove in on the 12th, stayed the night, drove out on the 13th.

The last time I was there about three years or so ago the main bridge on the 20 side , bowman lake road was collapsed. have they fixed it or built a new one? Just curious, i want to take a ride out there while I am home on leave.

Must be fixed. I don’t remember anything but very small bridges. No issues in or out for us those 2 days. Not sure what the conditions are like now; probably under snow.

If I recall it was a stone bridge that you need to cross in order to continue on bowman lake road to get to the lake. Think it was rucker creek.
