Vent Shades/ Side Window Deflectors

I like the AVS In-Channel ones, and the price is right. Never had a problem with them, even through numerous drive thru car washes.. A little Goo gone took off the brand in less than a minute.

 

My weathertech's required some grinding during installation. The rear window weather strip bulged where the plastic was pushing on the metal support brackets. Had to grind the plastic down at those locations so that the black weather stripping would stay seated against the paint. I should note that I am pretty picky, but I've heard others having the same problem. If I had to purchase again, I think I'd go AVS. Never had any issues in the past with AVS.

 

A few of my mates have Weather Tech and spoke highly of em so that’s what I got. I’ll install them when I take my Christmas decos off.

 

Bought some in channel no names on clearance for 26 dollars from woot. Ill be interested to see how the look.

 

I have these. Been on my truck for 4 years now. No issues, I am happy with them.

 

I put the stick-on AVS ones on about a month ago and think they're great! (I was a bit worried about shoving stuff up into the weather-stripping/window channel..) .... I like that I can leave the window cracked a bit (I like the fresh air even when it 10 degrees outside) and the fact that there's really no air blasting into the cab until the windows are rolled about 1/2 way down.
This especially works well for me as, I like to have an occasional cigar while driving and can flick the ash out the window without it blowing back inside..

 

AVS front edge driver side didnt stick properly. Every other time I roll up the window it impacts the vent, stops and rolls back down. Prolly installer error but wtf?

 

sounds like a simple fix.

 

Contact AVS and they will probably send you a new tape.

 

I purchased stick on AVS vents first. My first impression was poor quality. The plastic edges were unfinished and even though they were in original packing they were all scratched up. I removed them and purchased the in-channel Weather tech's and never looked back. The product quality is very good and the installation was easy. In my opinion the in-channel style looks best no matter what brand you buy.

 

I have AVS In Channel and no problems. I like the Matte Black look.

Sanded it out and polished the sand scratches. Looks much better now.

 

AVS in channel here. I installed the Weathertech in channel on my wife’s Mazda and like the AVS better. They’re thinner where the Weathertech’s being thicker cause the window motor to work harder as the window comes in contact with the deflector.

 

i ended up pulling off the front Weathertech’s. I found the driver’s window would not go up all the way and seemed to strain a lot. I’ll probably try them again when the weather gets warmer.

 

Exactly, I can hear the strain on my wife’s car with the window going up but on the truck with the AVS you can’t even tell that they are there.
Anyone who goes with the AVS in channel make sure that you leave the windows up for the recommended time, I left mine up longer but they need that time with the window pressure on them for the adhesive to cure.

 

Iv had em on my last 3 trucks. All stick on. Got em on my 20 dcsb.only thing they r good for is venting in summer while parked. Too noisy to crack window at speed. Do like em during rain.
