Yeah, ECGS is something like 1600 after I ship my diff back to them. I'm also going to have another front diff tomorrow so I can just sell that once I get what I want off it.

Yea slow speed is the biggest saver of breakage.
You definitely need a daily though. Between that and AAA premium towing, you can really boogie down on the trail and not have to worry much about getting home or to work the next day :stirthepot:

I carry 1 spare and a set of stub shafts too jic

Oh it'll happen one of these days. I need to come out to Bishop and do some of these trails you talk about.

    Swapping out the ADD?

Yes, dude is selling a complete diff with the non-ADD diff tube for dirt cheap. Too good to pass up.

I'll take you wheeling around Bishop anytime. There's not much that's truly hard here though. When I want to break things I go down to Johnson Valley.

That would be best case scenario man

Lol. I hope they make it right.

I use to have a nice carport but the city made me take it down after 11 years of owning my house. They can suck a fat one. I dont like wrenching out here since. Time is money, so take my money i guess. Lol

    :luvya:

Lol. I feel you man. I should rip into it. But this place needs to fix this mess, especially since they said it was good to go :annoyed:

I agree. If I payed to have work done I'd expect that work to actually work.

Front or rear locker acting up? What are the symptoms of it not working?

On the rear, when he tried to lock it and use it, it made clicking noises ... sounds like gears / teeth skipping.

It did lock though? If it was teeth on the ring or pinion skipping it would happen in 2wd as well. The ring gear just bolts to the ARB carrier. Weird shit going on there. lol

Can attest to this. His little ARB compressor is trying to pump air to the rear locker but nothing. Lots of clicking and a whole lot of one wheel peel.

No, it never locked when we ran Slick Rock. It sounds like the teeth are almost about to engage and there's almost enough PSI to get them, which is why I think there's a air leak.

So the compressor is constantly cycling? Yeah, air leak. Either in the external tubing, at the bulkhead fitting, in the internal copper line, in the seal housing, or the bonded seal is bad. 4 of the 5 are an easy fix. The bonded seal not so easy. lol

Yup same noise yesterday as slick rock.

i was airing down 20-30ft away and heard it clearly.
His compressor kept cycling on at slick rock, not sure about yesterday

Everyone beat me too ot. Lol. So yea , it is continuously cycling when the rear locker is engaged. Hoping its an air line like you side. That other seal that you were talking about ( bonded seal )was replaced when i had the crawlbox done.

Go start your truck and turn on the rear locker. Go over to your rear breather and see if you hear air coming out it. If it's the copper line or the seal housing o-rings it will leak internal. That air will come out the rear diff breather.

No leaks that i can see or hear. Compressor goes on every 5 seconds. When wheeling tho and having it engaged, its constant

If it's holding for 5 minutes when cold but not holding at all when the diffs hot it's most likely your bonded seal. As the diff gets hot the seal looses contact with the carrier and starts leaking.

Compressor shouldn’t cycle at all once locked. I can lock mine and leave them overnight and come back out and still be locked without cycling the compressor. You have a leak somewhere. Either in the line from the compressor or from the copper tube to the seal collar
