I was really impressed with your BD’s on the WABDR trip, if they were SAE I would have definitely gone that route, but I broke down and bought some yellow angled pro fogs from @memario1214 yesterday.

They'll be on the road tomorrow! If you are looking for SAE you absolutely made the right choice. If there was no regard to street legality if that isn't how you'd use them I can make a case for both. I have a set of Squad Pros in my Tacoma and I am happy with them. DD's will be going into my Tundra though for sure.

Side note: I like how me giving you free stuff segued into you now purchasing 2 sets of lights from me

My Dad is a Ford salesmen. He spends his own money buying oil change gift cards to send to customers that about have their rigs paid off to get them on the lot. Like he says, it just takes a little free shit to catch flies.

The WABDR was awesome. Definitely looking forward to doing that again.

Yes, but we need to spend a day running the Summit Trail/Tripod flats trails on the WBDR. Those trails were awesome, very similar to the top section of Bethel Ridge, miles and miles of super tight head on a swivel technical wheeling. It would be pretty easy to cut in make the loop and pop right back out in the WABDR.

These are wilcos mounting points and I have double that amount and they claim you can haul around a 40" tire on their tiregate so im not too woried about it.

Ouch. Turned around too confidently into a ditch because a buddy wasn’t confident on a trail andddddd 4wd gone, all the sudden. No blinking this time. Just no engagement in front drive train. Very clearly hear a loose chain. Will drain and see the turmoil tomorrow. Man since I got rear ended two years ago this rig has been a nightmare. I know blah blah blah transmission, but I am an A/T driver. Why not just upgrade to third gen convince me to stay 2nd gen after this nightmare lol.

Fuckin zombie rooster experience just now

Found our youngish rooster savagely attacking one of my egg laying birds this morning. He was just getting big enough to be a real asshole, so his time was up.

Enter coop, grab bird in left arm, grab neck with right hand, break neck, done in 30 seconds. Or so I think.

After dispatching him I held the bird by the neck for a couple minutes then walked the carcass over to my carport (several hundred feet away) and laid him in the snow. About fuck who knows how many minutes (a bunch) I see the rooster pop his damn head up and look around. I walk over to it and sure enough it hops up and derpily runs into the side of my garage. And then around my Polaris, then and under a big stiff nasty blue spruce tree. He ultimately traps himself in the absolute shittiest possible spot under the tree. Mrs. Taco laughs at me and bets that I can't get the bird out.

After a particularly rough and muddy conifer search and second round of chicken choking I believe the battle is finally over.

We went again before Christmas Eve. Got close to where we were before but we were the first ones up and there was another maybe 2 feet of snow. I think we were less than a thousand feet away but I started dragging my axle and lost momentum. I think if I had 35s I coulda made it up.

From an earlier post: 47.36360424135398, -121.53103014358504

I think NF 5510 is the official name. It'll be gated off if NF 55 gets too much snow though (seems unlikely this year)

That's what I figured just wanted to make sure. I'm not too far from there so I need to go check it out.

I think I tried going out there and ran into some gates. Or maybe I'm mixing that up with somewhere else...

Shouldn't be any gates, I was up there this summer. There's a neat little water crossing/washout at one point and a spot to shoot. I was told there are some technical spots after the washout but never went up that far as I'm still stock and wasn't rolling with anyone else at the time.

That turns into a shit show as does the south side of the highway there at tinkham and usually ends up closed to motorized traffic as decided by USFS when conditions warrant.

I can see it being a shit show, haven't been up there since probably August. There's a gravel/loose rock section that would be real interesting with snow.

Was out there yesterday, no deep snow, couple of slick spots on the trail but gates were open.
