Maybe the dealer I was talking to only had a Sport in their possession. But it seemed at the time it only came Manual with the TRD Sport. What I want is an AC TRD OR. So thats good news. And the brochure said TRD OR Manual. Looks like I'm on the hunt...

I agree. All I drive is Manual and I hold a AC,Z License. Its technique, keep a proper travel distance and cruise. No problem. Toronto Traffic can be a little tricky sometimes but I do tend to avoid traffic and cities.

Yeah, the AC OR MT is pretty rare. Ive seen one on last 2.5 years in my neck of the woods. Have seen quite a few ATs though.

Its breaking my heart that the market doesn't support manuals like they used to. We deserve more truck options in this wide spread wheeling paradise of a country.
We want a Diesel! All in favour say iiGht!

Yota makes money selling ATs not MTs, not gonna happen haha! I honestly think 4th gen wont have MT option. Very, very sad.

Thats why only so few MT configs are available.

Buy yourself an MT before it’s too late. They’re a dying breed.

Just wish they made a DCLB MT...

You meant to say "endagered spiecies"? :D

That is my dream config as well by the way. Too bad they have never made a Taco with MT and DCLB.

My short box still havent let me down though.

Yeah, I am just dreaming. It is sad because all this time I've had my eyes on older manual 4runners but there just to risky to go dumping money into a rusted frame.

Honestly, if you are asking you will probably be better off with the auto. Manual people just know.

I think it’s actually like 50/50 isn’t it? There was a poll for that one time....

People dont want to do shit anymore. Thats why everything is becoming automated. Very few folks wanna shift their own, gotta have that burger and fries you know.

Just look at what a "cellphone" has become. I dont agree with it, but whatever.

Agreed. I think in the future, manuals will be worth alot cause they won't be made anymore, and it'll be like a rare nostalgia type of thing where they get more expensive for that reason. Hopefully toyota makes the right call and includes it in Gen 4.

Might be smart to buy one in manual and put it on jack stands in storage. If toyota gets rid of the manuals in gen4, might make some money on that. Someone on DougDemuros car bidding site just sold a mint (2014?) Automatic FJ cruiser with 400 miles for $50,000.

Imagine a mint 2021 MT tacoma, with a couple hundred miles in 2030. Wonder how much that'll be worth then once almost no cars are made in manual.

I’m all for car collecting (I’m doing it myself), but I really can’t understand folks buying cars just to park and sell off later for a profit. It’s a car! Drive it... Especially when it seems like autonomous and electric cars will take over in the next 50 years.

It makes me sad to see, say, one of the new Ford GT’s with 85 miles on it (one just sold on BaT) when Ford SPECIFICALLY sold them to people they thought would actually use them, not just park them and sell them off for a profit like a piece of art.

It’s more about buying something to enjoy, and maybe you seek out a car to buy and use that you can speculate will be of higher value even after having miles on it, if you even want to sell it in the future.

    But that’s just me...

Manuals being worth more on resale? Get out of here with that shit, it's not an M3, 911, GTi, Corvette, Mustang, Camaro etc.

    I voted "Doesn't matter".

I think most AT guys don't give a shit what someone else drives. MT guys seem super cereal about it though.

At some point, yes, manuals do bring a premium in certain no longer made vehicles, just because there are less of them. Will it have better resale next year? No. 15 years from now? Likely.
